The Perote Guards March
The Perote Guards March was an instrumental piece of music composed in 26 BBY by local Perote composer Andrew Benning.
The march was composed in celebration of the founding of the Perote Guards, a local civilian volunteer defence unit consisting of 130 local Perote men, formed following Tony Lonsdale's Raid on the Zarkan Arms Factory on the town's outskirts. The unit was commanded by veteran ex-Royal Zarkan Kingdom Army officer Colonel William O. Asquith.
Whilst initially concerned with the defence of Perote and the local area, following the birth of the Confederate States of Earth at the start of 21 BBY the Perote Guards became Company D of the 1st Zarkan Kingdom Infantry Regiment, the "Capital Regiment" (due to the fact that the 1st Regiment's companies all hailed from Zarkan City and surrounding settlements) of the Army of the Zarkan Kingdom.
When the unit heard Benning's music piece that had been dedicated to them they enjoyed it so much they adopted it as their personal quick march.
