The Pedeatioc League was an unrealised concept of a unified state occupying all the Pedeatic Islands located on the planet Mors.
History[]
Disunified settlements[]
When the first settlers arrived on the islands between the mainland and island of Pedetes, they formed their own tribes and settlements, with one tribe located on each island, and other islands remaining uninhabited. Whilst a couple of these tribes allied each other, they were usually temporary and for a reason such as emergency survival, and when the tribe was again safe, these temporary alliances were broken and returned to the status quo.
Sicc'orax conquest of the Pedeatic islands[]
These islands came into the scope of the Sicc'orax Republic, who planned conquest of these islands to add to their rapidly growing nation. Swiftly, these tribes were soon conquered, and the uncolonized islands were settled by Sicc'orax settlers. Some of the tribal nations allied together as the Paedotid Confederation, however they were nowhere near strong enough to defend against the Sicc'orax, and they were all conquered by the Sicc'orax on their path to reaching Pedetes.
Attempted formations[]
The concept was first thought of several hundred years after the Sicc'orax conquest, when a group of rebels sought to break the Pedeatic Islands free of Sicc'orax control and unify them under an independent sovereign state. This attempted uprising was crushed by the Sicc'orax who were venomously against releasing the islands from their control, as the islands were an important location for control naval movement between Pedetes and the mainland.
After the Morsian Military Dictatorship came into control of the island following the Second Morsian-Sicc'orax War, the idea of a united island state was not forgotten, and several rebellions aimed to attempt to break free of them and unite the islands. The Morsians, however, like the Sicc'orax before them, wanted to keep a firm control over the islands due to their strategic value, and so ruthlessly stamped out the resistance to their rule.
After these instances, there were very few attempts to try and realise Pedeatic unity outside of petitions and requests, which fell on deaf ears.
Behind the scenes[]
Star Wars: Mors - Rise of the Morsians[]
The Pedeatic League makes an appearance in Star Wars: Mors - Rise of the Morsians as a formable nation. The nation is a realisation of the idea of all the island unified under one nation with one national identity. In order for the nation to be formed, the player must have started as one of the nations inhabiting Pedetes and own, not occupy, all core territory of the islands.
Conditions for forming[]
- The Pedeatic League must not exist.
- Forming nation must not already be the Pedeatic League.
- Forming nation is not already a higher tier formable nation.
- All core territory of Pedetes and the Pedeatic Islands must be directly owned.
- Forming nation must be of Pedetic culture.
- Forming nation must have started on Pedetes.
- Forming nation's capital must be on Pedetes or one of the islands.
- Forming nation must not be tribal or uncivilised.
Effects[]
- Forming nation will become the Pedeatic League.
- The nation will get "Unified Pedeatic People" modifier nationwide for the next ten years which grants a plus five percent population growth bonus in the capital, a plus twenty percent import and export bonus as well as a permanent one extra trade route in the capital.
- Five citizen, four freemen and two slave pops appear in the capital.
- Up to twenty-five percent of national population will be converted to Pedetic culture and religion.
Strategy[]
In order to form the Pedeatic League, owning the island of Pedetes is a prerequisite, and is generally the hard part of a playthrough to form this nation. As such, the basic strategy to form the Pedeatic League is identical to forming Pedetes. Once the main island is under your control, the only thing left to do is go to war again with the Sicc'orax, as they have direct ownership of the islands. Once your truce is up with the Sicc'orax, simply declare war on them again, ideally with some allies, and occupy the islands. Taking some of the mainland territories should give you enough war score to peace out with the Sicc'orax for the islands, allowing you to form the league.
