Paé Sonmertans was a female human born on Naboo in 98 BBY and a first cousin once removed of Palpatine. Consuming the life energy of force-sensitives, she lived far longer than an average human. Sonmertans became one of the Emperor's secret apprentices in 1 BBY and usually worked together with Imperial Intelligence agent Captain Orcinda on several missions to eliminate any remaining Jedi in the last days of the Great Jedi Purge. After the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY she openly adopted her formerly secret name of Darth Voldora as a Sith Inquisitor, but around 10 ABY was killed by the reborn Emperor for questioning his rule.
Biography[]
After a life-shortening genetic defect was detected at an early age after being born on Naboo in 98 BBY, she started seeking for methods to prolong her life, also arousing her curiousity in dark magic.
Sonmertans later followed Dathomir and Sith lore and finally found an instrument to gain, so she believed, infinite life by sucking the life energy from Jedi Padawans and other young force-sensitive beings, where she favoured female donors to maintain her feminine attraction.
She later engaged the Emperor's attention, the latter soon taking her as one of his secret apprentices in 1 BBY to hunt down the last remaining Jedi. Captain Orcinda of Imperial Intelligence was assigned to Sonmertans for assistance during her missions. Though her assistant being slightly force-sensitive as well and a very youthful and good-looking woman, she managed to withhold her urge to consume her subordinate's breath of life by consistently finding other victims in time before losing some of her own youth, Orcinda's role having grown too significant and important for Sonmertans' mission and plans.
After her master's first death above Endor in 4 ABY she eventually called herself a Sith Inquisitor and went under the name of Darth Voldora. During that time, Sonmertans, together with her assistant Orcinda, was featured in the ninth recruitment poster by Imperial propaganda artist Flyff Antilles named Imperial Recruitment 2 – STAY FIT for the Empire!.
When Palpatine was reborn on Byss though, fearing her competition in cheating death and ruling the Empire, he killed his distant relative around 10 ABY after defeating Sonmertans' loyal subordinate Orcinda.
Personality and traits[]
Sonmertans wore a tattooed Naboo scar of remembrance in dark red, a perverted variant of the mark normally exhibited only by the Queens reigning the planet.
Behind the scenes[]
Paé Sonmertans is based on the Star Wars and costuming fan Pai Mårtensson. The attire she is shown in is actually one of Pai's costumes as a Sith Inquisitor, whereas the adopted name Darth Valdora and parts of her background story were created by herself.
