You're not a Fett... ...you're not even worthy of my time!
—Commander Riggs

Otto Fett was a bounty hunter and impersonator of Boba Fett who assumed the infamous surname after a slump in his own hunting career. Since Boba Fett had been missing during the crises leading up to the Ancient's Crusade, Otto found it easy to assume his name and in effect gained all of Fett's former contractors. Though he became marginally wealthy (enough even so to acquire a suit of Mandalorian armor once worn by Boba's father Jango), he did tarnish the Fett name on several occasions with various blunders and lapses in judgment, as well as horrid behavior under the influence of certain strong ales.

Taking Fett's name[]

You 'Dark' Jedi always were strange to me... ...take the head, kid, you deserve it... ...I guess...
—Otto Fett to Viric Moon

Otto was in a bind - the Dark Jedi on Coruscant had targeted him for the assassination of one of their comrades, the Jedi wouldn't take him in because of his peculiar origins, and the Republic disdained him because of his 'harmless flirting' with the wife of Admiral Bryt. He needed a way out of this hole he had dug for himself through his various flounders, and his opportunity came when he heard that people had not seen Boba Fett for several months. Since the infamous hunter was often spotted during his investigations, Otto assumed that Fett had died, but formulated a plot to assume the former Mandalorian's identity to help boost his own career.

All Otto needed was a contract from one of Fett's employers. Signing under the name 'O.Fett', Otto managed to nab a contract from a famous Twi'Lek dancer and card player named Udinia to kill a man named Kunic because of a recent defeat in the cards. Udinia's pride had been severely scarred in the encounter, and she demanded that the only card player capable of beating her in any tourney be killed immediately before the Coruscanti Championship.

Otto tracked Kunic easily, but only by a stroke of luck did he manage to claim the bounty. Kunic was standing on a platform above a superheated furnace in Coruscant's industrial sector when Otto arrived and aimed his old EE-3 at the old card player's head. Kunic rose both hands before whipping around and throwing out his right hand towards Otto. Surprised, Otto found himself throttled backwards by an incredible force.

Floored and dazed, Otto watched as the Jedi approached casually, asking him why he was about to kill him. Otto was about to try to escape when the old man was beheaded right in front of him. Standing there over the corpse was a Dark Jedi, blue lightsaber drawn, staring at Otto with young eyes, eager for violence. Viric Moon introduced himself to Otto and also claimed that 'thanks are not necessary' for saving his life. Otto requested the Bounty, and Viric agreed to allow Otto to take the body - but the young Dark Jedi wanted the Head. Otto agreed.

The last fight[]

Psht! You're threatening me, you walking piece of scrap-metal? I've seen kids with better armor and weapons than that!
—Otto taunting Commander Riggs, unaware of the superior firepower of Blood Legion devices.

After acquiring the armor that Jango Fett wore during the Battle of Galidraan with much of his lengthy payment, along with the pair of recovered Westar Dallorian Blaster Pistols Fett had used, Otto felt content to begin taking easier assignments to get used to the bounty hunting scene with his new 'toys'. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be afforded the chance. In a sense, he had effectively gathered the tools that would make Riggs, not Otto himself, the greatest Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy after the Ancient's Crusade.

On a vacation to Furina in the Faeli system, Otto tested the arsenal of Fett's old gear stored in the armor and jetpack that came with it against three squads of Sith Soldiers. Using his rockets and flamethrower, Otto made quick work of the three squads, and then four more, before he attracted the attention of the Blood Legion's best, Commander ARC-Beta 107 'Riggs'.

Arriving on Furina by order of the Elders, Riggs was ambushed as Otto used his last rocket to try and kill the better-armed and armored commander quickly, but Beta 107 engaged the renegade after quickly using his jetpack to hop away from the blast. Despite his efforts, he was still caught in the shockwave and landed awkwardly against a set of rocks, his rifle tumbling down a ravine. Otto at first taunted Riggs for his armor and weapons, seeing their reminiscence to the Clone Trooper Phase-II armor used during the Clone Wars. Riggs, however, proved him wrong very quickly, utilizing his flamethrower to force Otto into using the last of his jetpack fuel to seek refuge on a hanging rock on the cliff face above. Otto rained down bolts from his powerful Westar pistols for several moments before Riggs retaliated.

Get me now, schutta!
—Otto Fett before being blasted to his final resting place.

Riggs at first let on as if he was going to walk away. However, Riggs was smarter and more well-equipped than Otto, and had just the thing for such an occasion. Though he could use his jetpack, Otto was firing randomly as if merely hoping to hit, probably not aware of how to utilize the advanced HUD in Jango's visor. Riggs simply crouched down and used his own, sophisticated C-HUD to determine a trajectory for his jetpack-mounted rocket to avoid the bolts and blow Otto off the face of the planet.

After carefully choosing the trajectory, Riggs fired the rocket, and a surprised Otto tried in vain to hit the projectile with his pistols until it was too late, and leapt at the last second, still being blasted to the hill below, his pistols preceding him by several moments. Riggs rushed to meet him and easily cast the impersonator away as he charged again and again, weaponless and in a primal fear of death. Growing weary of the melee, Riggs quickly knocked Otto off-balance and delivered his knee to the hunter's faceplate.

Otto went careening down the hill towards his pistols, while Riggs unsheathed his BL-11 Carbine and aimed carefully. The powerful bolts that flowed out rapidly pummeled the helpless hunter before he could even turn around with a firm grip on his own weapons, and Riggs rushed down to check the body.

Otto held on desperately to consciousness, shocked but not injured due to the reinforced armor, before Riggs arrived, removed his helmet, and blew his head off where he laid. Riggs took the barely-phased armor and removed his helmet for the first time to spit on the spot where Otto's face had been, before returning to the shuttle and making his way back to Faera.

Shortly afterward, Boba Fett would return to the Galaxy and laugh at Otto's misfortunes and overdue demise...

Behind the scenes[]

Otto was inspired by all the lowlife scum of the mercenary world portrayed in several books and films, both in his unorthodox rise and pathetic, sudden fall.

Otto is intended to be Riggs' first look into the world of Bounty Hunting, the one that would drive him later on to observe more closely the greater Bounty Hunters and join their ranks.

Otto's strawberry blond hair and emerald eyes are inspired by the author himself.
