Ostik Stathu was a male Human mercenary, businessman, official in Palpatine's Court, and Imperial general. He was the father of Maritta Stathu Strayfiend and grandfather of twins Mathias and Marthrull Strayfiend.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Born on Denon Stathu was raised by his mother and father in a poor district. When he was only eight years old, he was kidnapped by a Snivvian who mistook him for an heir of the wealthy Ivannor family. He was taken to Sevarcos II where his kidnapper abandoned him after discovering he had the wrong child. Stathu grew up on his new homeworld, fending for himself.

Mercenary[]

In 39 BBY, Stathu joined a mercenary company called the Umutum Tumumutu, under the command of a Letaki named Ebban N. Surro. His first job with them was to raid a pirate fortress on a world in the Outer Rim called Hwemry. Several mercenaries were killed but they proved victorious over the pirates. At one point, Stathu and the mercenaries helped Jabba the Hutt remove several problems on Tatooine. Later, in 34 BBY, Surro retired and Stathu became the head of the Umutum Tumumutu. The group experienced a split on Bpfassh in 29 BBY. Stathu led one group and the B'trillan Dutraeze Musiat led the other. Most of the mercenaries died in the battle that resulted from the infighting and the survivors each went there own way, effectively disbanding the company.

Businessman[]

Stathu managed to obtain enough wealth to start a small weapons factory on Gothriko in 27 BBY. He rapidly expanded his business and soon had buyers all over the Mid Rim. When the Clone Wars broke out, his company was recruited to supply the Republic. Stathu himself was rushed to Coruscant to become a weapons adviser for the Senate. By the end of the Clone Wars, he had began to advise Palpatine himself on the weapons used by the GAR. It was during this time that his youngest daughter, Maritta, was born.

Empire[]

His useful advice landed him a minor position in Palpatine's Court following the war. Throughout this time he managed to avoid the wrath of the Emperor and Darth Vader and the many darksiders and ambitious officers. Even when his daughter defected to the Rebel Alliance in 3 ABY, he managed to avoid any repercussions.

Legends Timeline[]

After the death of Palpatine, Stathu was made a general under the command of Galak Fyyar. When the Empire Reborn cult appeared, he joined his former commander. This ultimately led to his death because he was present aboard the Doomgiver when it was destroyed.
