The Ospion Schism was a schism within the Ospion Guardians on Conscio around 12,999 BBY. Following the end of the Alsakan Crisis, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Alsakan Union, the Ospion Guardians, a group of rogue Jedi who left the Jedi Order in 13,000 BBY, fled into the Outer Rim Territories to avoid persecution from the Jedi Order. They came upon the planet Conscio, a dark side world, where they discovered the teachings of the Dark Jedi Xendor, the ancient leader of the Legions of Lettow.[1]

A number of Ospion decided to follow Xendor’s dark side teachings, although many others wished to remain dedicated to being the guardians of peace in the galaxy. This resulted in a schism that saw the deaths of those who did not want to follow the dark side. Following the schism, the Ospion who remained to follow the dark side renamed themselves the Dark Jedi of the Bogan.[1]
