Orto was a Kyuzo bounty hunter who operated during the Galactic Civil War. He was one of many rising bounty hunters taken in and employed by Marc Krayt.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Orto began his life on his homeworld of Phatrong, where he trained as a warrior of the Prae'to Guard. With the Prae'to, he learned the many branches of his homeworld's diverse martial art, specialising in the lethal stave form known as Sokto. Upon reaching warrior status, he was awarded the ceremonial shield-hat, robe, and gauntlet.
Bounty Hunting[]
First Bounty[]
After leaving his home planet, Orto became a bounty hunter, taking out local criminals for small governments. His first mission was to find and kill the Weequay Val Fero, who had evaded the local authorities for months. Despite the lack of intel on where Fero might be found, Orto managed to track down and kill the outlaw in a mere two days.
Expanding Operations[]
After making good money on lesser planets, Orto began working further into galaxy. It was on a mission to the Inner Rim to stop a cyborg terrorist, that Orto met Marc Krayt. Krayt was impressed by Orto, and recruited him into the Bounty Hunters' Headquarters. After arriving at the establishment, Orto received many more jobs, from a variety of employers, including the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Sen Unato[]
After several months in the Bounty Hunters' HQ, Orto was hired by the Empire to find and kill the smuggler Sen Unato. The job was of decent pay, so Orto had naturally accepted. He soon tracked down the smuggler, after learning of his clients and routes, and attacked him where Sen had expected to meet with a client. However, Sen managed to evade the bounty hunter, and it has since become an obsession of Orto's to capture him. Over the years, a grudging respect has developed between the two, strengthened by every confrontation.
Equipment[]
Weapons[]
Orto appeared to favour a modified electrostaff in combat. His talent for Sokto, combined with his staff's deadly power outputs, made him a fierce opponent. The staff featured a collapsible body, allowing Orto to conceal the weapon about his person.
Vehicles[]
GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat[]
Orto was known to fly a modified Skipray Blastboat during his career. The ion cannons had all been replaced with heavy laser cannons, except for the one on the ship's nose, which was replaced with a heavy ion cannon. The twin laser cannons had also been replaced with twin turbolaser cannons, and the proton torpedo magazine was extended to carry another two torpedoes. The shields were upgraded too, replacing the standard generator with the XS-12 Experimental Combat Shield System.
Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft[]
Later in the war, Orto flew a restored and heavily modified Firespray-31. The ship now featured four heavy laser cannons - two of which had replaced the original twin blaster cannons - and a pair of proton torpedo launchers. Medium ion cannons had also been installed, concealed within the ship's hull. A minelayer, an escape craft, a cloaking device and an additional two holding cells had been fitted too.
