«Lay me down in the cold cold ground/Where before many more have gone» ―Opening verse of Sergeant Mulkaehey

Lieutenant Olizard Harlu, service number 1946-2633WO, was a Wroonian male who served in the Republic Marines during the years surrounding the Great Droid Revolution. A musician and composer, he was a member of the Marine Corps Band where he was one of several auxiliary bandmasters. Stationed on Coruscant during and after the droid rebellion, he composed a hymn in remembrance of a friend of his who had been killed during the fighting.

Sergeant Mulkaehey, as the anthem was called, was intended to be sung in an old, drawling dialect of Galactic Basic that most Humans would at first be unable to fully comprehend. It caught on amongst the Marine Corps, so that by the time of the Great Sith War, the tune had become the official Marine Corps Hymn.
