Ocia Island

Ocia Island was an island in the Pejat Ocean on Aantooine. It was an oblong shaped island with several bays and an active volcano named Oco on the northern end. In the center of the island was a large crater from an extinct volcano. Inside this crater were hundreds of open lava tubes that led down several kilometers into the crust. Expeditions were known to traverse down these tubes and find large crystals of rare minerals.

Mining companies attempted to take over the island to access these minerals, but local tourism operators demanded that the island remain industry free. The mining company lost the battle in court but secretly sent contractors disguised as tourists to take as much as possible and sell them illegally.

A group of local college students from the University of Central Gysis studying the lava tubes discovered this practice and held one of the men until island authorities arrived. All explorations of the tubes ceased when Oco blew up and filled the tubes with lava once again. Another contractor happened to be in one of the tubes when it occurred.

Ocia Island remained a tourist destination even after the eruption that covered a portion of the island's north and northeast sides.
