Obveluus Gonzed IV was a male Human Jedi Knight of the Tapani sector and a noble member of House Cadriaan. Like his father and cousins, Obveluus dreamed of expanding the Gonzeds' galactic profile, and when Baron Miklato Kaivalt asked his help in securing Tapani aid to Mali Darakhan's campaign to liberate Milagro, Obveluus saw the opportunity and persuaded his superiors in House Cadriaan to endorse the mission.
Gonzed clashed with some of his peers in the invasion force—his aristocratic detachment from "commoners" rubbed Corellian Commodore Essely Kalliot the wrong way, and Gonzed was not at all pleased when Darakhan assigned him to the distant blockade during the Second Battle of Milagro. After the invasion, however, Gonzed descended to the surface and became an advisor to Prime Minister Zemma Rufos. As such, he was involved in high-level discussions regarding such matters as the execution of Kysl Ssron and the death of Jeh-Kro. He was also the first to suggest a Jedi serving on the Milagro War Crimes Tribunal, though the seat was ultimately given to Raina Kaivalt rather than Gonzed himself.
When Khofin of Knylenn arrived to serve as civilian Republic Administrator of Milagro, Gonzed shifted his role to that of liaison between the Milagroan and Republic bureaucracies. After the Battle of Eriadu left the Milagroans orphaned from the Republic, Gonzed elected to remain onworld to protect the Milagroans (and his homeworld's investment). When Tirien Kal-Di and Raven Kaivalt led an assassination mission against Gasald at Allanteen Six, Miklato Kaivalt called to ask Obveluus for help. Apprised that Essely Kalliot was taking her Corellian ships from Milagro for the same purpose anyway, Gonzed joined her with his Tapani ships. To their surprise, they were joined by battle fleets commanded by Jedi Masters Kussam Bnodd and Argus Z'dar, and the combined fleet won the Battle of Allanteen and captured the system for the Republic.
