I look to the Stars, and all I see is my own domain
—Nysaea Tantyr, Empress of Zakuul

Nysaea Tantyr was a Fallen Jedi who became a Force Witch and later Empress of Zakuul after forcibly taking it over after the defeat of Emperor Valkorian. She was the creator of the 'New Dawn' doctrine of Force learning.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Nysaea was born on Mirial to the powerful Tantyr Family around 3671 BBY. She and her twin sister Nysiless were discovered to be force sensitive in their early childhoods and taken by the Jedi to be taught the ways of the force. Whilst her sister would rally against the restrictive rules of the Jedi, and eventually leave, Nysaea delved into the secrets of the force with reckless abandon. Soon, this wish to learn more turned into a desire, and then, more worryingly to her Jedi Masters, an outright need.

After repeatedly refusing to cease her studies, her Jedi Master, Ziran Theen cast her out of the order around the year 3649 BBY.

Tutelage under Darth Ricimer[]

She found her way to the small world of Seritt III in the Outer Rim, and fell under the sway of the exiled Sith Lord, Darth Ricimer. A Sith descended from Ludo Kressh, Ricimer took the Mirialan on as a Sith Apprentice, teaching her alongside his acolytes. Hidden in the long since ruined temple complex Ricimer used as a headquarters for his power, Nysaea expanded her knowledge of the Force, this time focusing on the Dark Side. Under Darth Ricimer's tutelage, Nysaea became increasingly more powerful, and eventually, the Mirialan slew her Sith Master and fled into hiding, although the Sith Lord would later be revived by his remaining acolytes.

Beginning of a New Dawn[]

Nysaea eventually ended up on the Hutt world of Nar Shaddaa were she started to create her own Order of Force Users. Dubbing it 'The Order of the New Dawn', it would incorporate both Jedi and Sith teachings, although had a heavy leaning towards the Dark Side. The first of her acolytes, Voskan Tye, was a Corelian by birth, and soon proved to be unhesitatingly loyal to the now self proclaimed 'Force Witch'. From her powerbase in the Undercity of Nar Shaddaa, she gathered a small army of New Dawn Acolytes. This would prove useful during the Zakuulan invasion of the Galaxy, as her loyal followers protected and fought for her. During this time, she seized various artefacts of power from across the galaxy, chief among them was the mask of the Sith Lord, Darth Nihilus.

Taking of an Empire[]

Eventually, after the formation of the Alliance to combat Zakuul, the Order of the New Dawn sided against Zakuul, and assisted in the eventual defeat of Emperor Arcann. However, Nysaea did not plan on simply ignoring the opportunity the soon to be vacant throne posed, and sent her acolytes, Roggesh Viel and Sennari to convert as many Knights of Zakuul to the New Dawn doctrine as they could to provide for an easy transition for her transfer to power. After the defeat of Empress Vaylin, the Knights of Zakuul, now followers of the New Dawn proclaimed her as the new ruler, and Nysaea took up her place as Empress of Zakuul in 3630 BBY.

Reign as Empress[]

Nysaea's reign of the Zakuulan Empire has been marked by a series of aggressive expansionary campaigns from 3629 BBY to 3621 BBY until the signing of the Accordance of Wild Space by the Sith Empire, Galactic Republic, Hutt Cartel and the Zakuulan Empire. As of 3620 BBY, the Empress is busy consolidating her hold on Wild Space.

Personality and traits[]

Even from her childhood and earliest days as a Jedi, Nysaea showed an unadulterated thirst for knowledge and hunger for power. She didn't much care as to where said knowledge and power came from, light or dark, Jedi, Sith or Other, if it served to make her more powerful, she made sure she learned it. She had an appreciation for artefacts, and even wore one in particular, the Mask of Nihilus.

As she started to form her own Force Order, she began to shed her Dark Side favouritism, incorporating Jedi teachings into her 'Order of the New Dawn'.

She showed no small amount of pride in her accomplishments, residing in the Imperial Palace of Zakuul, and the Spire. She was ruthless to her enemies, but moderately kind to her loyal followers, even acting as a mother to Acolyte Sennari.
