In 0 ABY, several months after the battle of Yavin, they would go into direct conflict with Empire of the Hand, another governmental body led by Senior Captain Thrawn. Esva planned on expanding his empire to the known galaxy, but had to directly take care of Thrawn first. This, of course, would back fire and Esva was badly defeated in the Poln system, after under estimating Thrawn.
The Empire of the Hand drove their forces off of Oristrom. These forces were commanded by Nuso Esva and Marshal Tito. They lost this battle.
In 8 ABY, after the battle of Endor, not much remained of the territory of the empire, and Esva had his forces stationed on Quethold. Thrawn arrived above the planet and begun a planetary blockade. During the Hand’s attack, Esva realized defeat and executed the Queen of the Red, but didn't make it and was gunned down by the Queen's soldiers. This defeat would mark an end for the empire, with it disbanding within Esva's death.
