Nova Larisa was a Sephi female Jedi Knight who lived during the Old Sith War. Fighting alongside the Revanchists during the Mandalorian Wars, she later became a Sith Marauder in the Sith Empire of Darth Revan.
Biography[]
Born on Thustra, Nova Larisa was taken into the Jedi Order by her grandmother, who was an esteemed Jedi Master, and trained at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. She was later transferred to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant where she fell under the tutelage of Master Ond Golas and became close friends with Kalon Soral, Meetra Surik, and the Jedi who would one day be known as Revan.
In 3964 BBY, when the Jedi Council refused to provide support to the Galactic Republic in their war with the Mandalorians, Revan and several Jedi Knights seceded and joined the Republic as Jedi Crusaders. Nova was among the first to join Revan and it was her joining that convinced Kalon to join as well.
As the Mandalorian Wars progressed, so too did Nova and Kalon's relationship as the two fell deeper in love. When the Mandalorians were defeated, the couple followed Revan to the Unknown Regions and joined his Sith Empire, becoming Sith Marauders. Around this time, the two had grown so close that the others suspected them of having a child. However, Nova never showed signs of pregnancy, thus dispelling such rumors.
When the Sith Empire collapsed with the death of Darth Malak, Nova and Kalon rallied some of the remnant factions on Korriban and declared themselves warlords. Their short-lived reign soon came to an end when a redeemed Revan returned to Korriban with a Jedi strike force and drove off the remnant Sith. Confronting Nova and Kalon, he offered them a chance to surrender. When they rebuffed him, Revan prepared for a duel and was attacked by Nova. The Prodigal Knight was left with no choice but to kill her, which drove Kalon even further over the edge.
After her death, Nova was remembered by her family on Thustra, who came to resent the Jedi — Revan in particular — and blamed them for her death. Centuries later, around the time of the Sith Empire's return, a young woman by the name of Larisa Soral arrived at the Jedi Temple for training. Although most simply assumed she was from another member of Nova's bloodline, a few on the Jedi Council could not help but recognize her mixed Sephi-Human heritage and wondered if there was perhaps a far deeper connection.
