The Nomad crew, operated aboard the modified freighter. Initially formed by Ronen Draay, whom wished for a sanctuary of sorts away from terrestrial dependence. Draay purchased the vessel with the help of Bernie Hoban to pilot with promise to have her on as the ship's pilot.
To fulfill his desire to continue traveling the stars, Draay often hired out his ship out for various jobs, varying from legal transport to illegal smuggling. During such a job, he rescued a Twi'lek slave named Pelina Cyr from Khoro, offering her respite aboard the vessel.
In 252 ABY, while delivering cargo for Korrigan on Yadav, the crew came into contact with native Sakina Khari and Tey Surik, a Zabrak tech and Rho Zuka, a mercenary—all of whom requested transport, offering credits and service in exchange.
