Nomad Command, also known as Nomad Fleet, was a rogue faction of the Imperial Navy that refused to adhere to the Galactic Concordance of 5 ABY. It was led by Admiral Menson Dilozon.
Composition[]
Nomad Command was comprised of several Imperial II-class Star Destroyers supplemented by various TIE fighter variants, spearheaded by Admiral Dilozon's flagship, the Vexation. The Consular-class cruiser Taciturn, which was refitted as a surveillance ship during the Clone Wars, was also part of the fleet. The fleet's ground forces, trained for orbital entry strike operations, were mostly equipped as Imperial Navy troopers, though some stormtroopers remained as reserve special forces and bodyguards to Nomad Command's leadership.
Early operations[]
Following the signing of the Galactic Concordance, the distinguished Admiral Dilozon assembled Nomad Command from what remained of his own fleet. Initially, Nomad Command avoided any direct encounters with the New Republic, instead opting to raid the shipyards of other Imperial factions in order to acquire more ships and personnel.
During this time, a Star Destroyer belonging to Nomad Fleet was sent to attempt to secure the mines on Borqada, which were owned by the Mandalorian Naastau. The Star Destroyer was disabled by Black Sun ships upon entering the system, and was crashed into Borqada by tractor beams aboard Naastau's space station. Undermanned, Naastau contracted an army of mercenaries to besiege the crashed warship for several months until the surviving crewmen, low on supplies, finally surrendered and were ransomed back to Nomad Command. Admiral Dilozon subsequently ceased his incursions into the Borqada system in fear of attracting the New Republic. Intel found aboard the crashed Star Destroyer by Naastau's forces later helped the New Republic in their search for Nomad Command.
Dilozon's campaigns[]
In 7 ABY, after more than a year of unchecked raiding, Admiral Dilozon decided to make an attempt to conquer his homeworld of Naboo and replace the local monarchy with an Imperial splinter state, culminating in a space battle as his fleet was intercepted by the New Republic Navy. Nomad Command was subsequently forced out of the Naboo system, and Admiral Dilozon instead set his sights on Chommell Minor, another world in the same sector as Naboo. He successfully ousted Chommell Minor's democratic government and established a military dictatorship there, which remained in place for nearly two years until an invasion of the world in 9 ABY by the New Republic. Dilozon was promptly arrested during the invasion and brought to Chandrila, where he was executed for war crimes.
Some of Nomad Command's Star Destroyers fled the Chommell Minor system following the invasion and made their way to the Unknown Regions under Admiral Dilozon's son, Baron (now Admiral) Irmo Dilozon, where they eventually became part of the First Order.
