Rise of the Empire era

Nicole Triton-Kroger was a Human female. She was, during different times in her life, an Emperor's Hand, a smuggler and later a Jedi Knight. She became the wife of Cole Kroger and mother of his child, Chris Kroger, named after his best friend who was lost in a terrorist attack on Coruscant.

Biography[]

Emperor's Hand[]

Nicole Triton became the Emperor's Hand when she was young, though unwillingly. Her parents' lives were threatened until they finally relinquished custody. During her time as a hand, she assassinated many rebels and dissidents on the behalf of the Emperor. By the time she was 17, she actually came to believe that the Empire established Order.

Meeting Her Partner[]

Nicole Triton met her future husband Cole Kroger when the Confederate Revolution was beginning to take shape. Cole convinced her of the evils of the Galactic Empire and the Emperor. Nicole defected hesitantly to the recently formed Galactic Confederate Systems.

As Nicole worked with Cole, she developed at first a grudging respect for him, then a growing admiration, tempered by her pragmatism and coolness.

While trapped on the chaotic Felucia, in order to coordinate their efforts perfectly, Cole and Nicole performed a Force Meld, linking their minds in order to survive and get off the corrupted planet. It was after understanding each other on so deep a level that they realized the depth of their attraction for each other. When Cole asked Nicole to marry him, she eagerly accepted.

They managed to escape thanks to a band of pirates, which eventually became the Pirates of the Confederacy, led by Captain Jack Sparrow.

The two Jedi were married as the Second Confederation Congress was taking place.

War of Secession[]

Nicole Kroger was chosen to lead the Confederation Military during the War of Secession.

Kroger Raid[]

After the Confederate Congress Bombing, the military started planning a retaliatory strike against the Empire. Due to her experience with and knowledge of the Imperial military, Kroger was chosen to lead the top-secret mission. She chose to use 16 B-25s because while they were outdated, they were undetectable on Imperial radar. The Confederation military did not want her go with the raiders on the mission because she was "too high profile and too valuable". But the bond between Kroger and her soldiers, and her stubbornness, led Kroger to be the first pilot to take off. The bombers took off 400 miles from Coruscant and bombed military targets. All 80 crew members returned with one bomber being heavily damaged. All the Raiders were awarded the Confederate Medal of Honor, including Nicole Kroger, on live HoloNet.

Rebel: “Go to hell, you dirty Imperial!
Nicole: “What'd you call me? I fought the Imperials at Utapau. I fought 'em in the trenches. And I pray to God no one else ever has to see the things that I saw.
―Nicole denouncing a Rebel trooper, mentioning the horror of the Battle of Utapau.

Other Battles[]

The Battle of Utapau was the bloodiest battle during the war. Nicole took part in it and was greatly traumatized by the horrors she witnessed.

Family[]

Nicole and Cole had a son that they named Chris Domain Kroger, in honor of the memory of her husband's late best friend, Chris Domain who lost his life protecting Cole during the bombing of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

Personality and traits[]

Nicole was an extremely proud woman, who always gave her best at everything that she did—this can be seen in her time as an Emperor's Hand. A notable example of this is during her investigation of Moff Glovstoak and the efficiency with which she brought down the corrupt Imperial. However, Nicole did not let Glovstoak's fall, or the Emperor's approval, end her mission—Nicole continued by delving deeper into the conspiracy, eventually following the clues directly to their source. She refused to serve the warlords who seized power after the Emperor died, feeling that they were beneath her.

Additionally, Nicole was also extremely devoted, serving what she viewed as Palpatine's will even after his death. Nicole later displayed the same commitment to her husband, Cole Kroger, and their son, Chris Kroger, even at one point refusing to participate in the defense of Borleias in order to protect Chris.

Due to her upbringing under Palpatine, and also to the training she received from the Sith Lord, Nicole learned how to maintain a calm and collected composure in almost every situation. During the First Corellian Insurrection, and though she harbored a vendetta against Cole Kroger, Nicole went was able to prioritize the severity of the situation and place her differences with Kroger aside—she proceeded to warn Leia Organa Solo and the Senate of the New Republic and Cole of the Congress of the Confederation of the Confederate Systems about the recently uncovered plot to destroy them. During her brief tutelage under Kyle Katarn, Nicole was forced to face Kyle in an ancient Temple when he fell to the dark side. While he was fully engaged in the dark powers of the temple, Nicole was forced to defend against Katarn's attacks, with Nicole managing to fend him off each time. Eventually, Kyle and Nicole found themselves deep inside the catacombs of the temple, and Nicole voluntarily turned off her lightsaber and surrendered, maintaining her calm composure as she realized she could not longer fight her one-time friend. Due to Nicole's self-control, Kyle was eventually redeemed and brought back to the light.

KrogerCouple

The two couple before the wedding.

Even though Nicole exuded a toughened exterior, she was a warm and compassionate individual. Through her love and marriage to Cole Kroger, Nicole was able to realize that her life of constant conflict had not provided her with everything she needed. However, through her experiences and relationship with Cole, she came to acknowledge her love for him and understand what his companionship offered her life—she realized that it was acceptable to let him past her defenses. A small way in which she showed Cole her love for him was through the playful nickname which she constantly called him—Presidenté. Nicole's love and compassion also managed to manifest itself when she gave birth to his son, Chris Domain. The Galactic Civil War caused Nicole to develop a strong, and somewhat overprotective, demeanor towards Chris, constantly fearing that the Imperials would find him and take him away from her and Cole as a retaliatory punishment for her defection. After watching the devastation that Anakin Solo's death caused Leia Solo, Nicole had no wish to experience that type of emotional pain.
