The New Separatist Front was one of many remnants of the Confederacy of Independent Systems that operated during the Imperial era. Formed immediately after the Clone Wars' end, the New Separatist Front consisted of militias, mercenary units, and terror cells that were scattered across the galaxy and performed guerrilla attacks on Imperial installations and convoys. The assassination of Moff Jan Togomi - the Imperial governor of the volcanic planet Vhuznoc in the Mid Rim and a high-ranking celebrity member of COMPNOR - was attributed to members of the New Separatist Front. Numerous Imperial military personnel and officers would also see their demise at the hands of the New Separatist Front, earning the movement the reputation of one of the galaxy's most effective and prolific Neo-Separatist forces.
After enduring several defeats against the Galactic Empire, the New Separatist Front disbanded and its members either flocked to other Neo-Separatist movements or to unrelated anti-Imperial resistance fronts.
