The New Frontier trilogy is a trilogy of novels written by Zeon the Digger. Set a thousand years after the events of Star Wars: Legacy, it follows the life and adventures of Calen Solayr, a young Force-sensitive on the Unknown Regions planet of Aranya as he is suddenly pulled into a battle between Raixan Fauth, an evil warlord from the same region of the galaxy, and the Triumvirate Underground with their New Jedi Order allies.
Inspired by both the original trilogy and the Knights of the Old Republic video game, the trilogy is named as it is as a reference to its primary setting for all three installments: the Unknown Regions, as well as Wild Space and even the Outer Rim territories on occasion, and it aims to capture the feel of its two main influences. Due to its location in the timeline, it features an entirely new cast of characters with only the faintest relation to the original cast. The series is also influenced, writing-style wise, by the likes of the Force Awakens novelization and several other expanded universe novels the author has read.
The trilogy was first conceived on December 22, 2015. In spring 2018, 3 years after work began, it was officially reimagined as the larger project Star Wars Faraway.
