New Alderaan was a small planet that was discovered in the Wild Space region near Kamino. The planet was named in honor of the first Alderaan, which was destroyed by the Death Star in 0 ABY. New Alderaan was a planet-wide military base that contained many different facilities. The planet had storage facilities, living quarters, training areas, cloning compounds, construction shipyards, research centers, and a galaxy wide command center. All Imperial and Cartel military operations were controlled from there, and it was an ideal spot sense the Vong could not reach it. The planet was also protected by a large fleet of Imperial and Cartel ships.
