Nero Qel-Tythas was a Force-sensitive Human male that served as a Jedi Knight and Ace during the conflict of the Extant War. The eldest and only son of the galactically-famed Jedi Battlemaster, Julian Qel-Tythas, Nero idolized his father and strove to live up to his father's legacy. Eager-minded and a prodigy in his own right, Nero Qel-Tythas was considered one of the Jedi Order's most promising prospects, although he himself suffered from an inferiority complex.
A noble of the House of Qel-Tythas, Nero struggled from dividing his duties between fulfilling his role as a Jedi Knight and his responsibilities as the heir to New Alderaan's royal family. Indirectly emulating his father's choice of attire, Nero typically garbed himself in lightweight Echani-forged Jedi armor and dual silver lightsabers. Like many Jedi, Nero held a strong distrust—and unwillingness to trust—of the Sith Lords. While based partially on principal, much of his animosity grew from resentment of the Sith Hegemony's Kingdom of Tyûk, due to the death of his cousin, Keson Qel-Tythas, and Sith King Raedon III permanently blinding Nero's father during the final battle of the Hundred-Day War.
