Nassius Prime was a massive forested planet that was in the Outer Rim territories. It was a largely unspoiled world with large plains and forests and lakes. An enchanted world, Nassius Prime was notable for being the native home of both the deer-like Jelenans and the vampire-like lupine Ulvenians. Due to its proximity to the inhospitable Unknown Regions, Nassius Prime was a relatively quiet planet.

Geographical Features[]

Nassius Prime was an incredibly beautiful, temperate world largely covered by massive forests, grassy plains, secluded lakes, and mountain ranges. Nassius Prime was composed of a molten metallic core with a thick, immobile low-relief silicate crust. Nassius Prime also had interconnected lakes which could cover the remaining percent of the planet.

Fauna[]

Jelenans evolved from a species of herbivorous mammalian ungulates that lived in small herds in the forests. The lupine Ulvenians were believed to have evolved from both wolf and panther ancestors that lived up in the mountains. Throughout their history, both species had been feared or abused by the settlers of Nassius Prime. According to the folktales told by the settlers, Jelenans were commonly described by the settlers to be wild and shy (but generally kind to children) and would often come out at night were they would dance and play when the coast is clear. Because of their fear of the settlers, they were known to the settlers as “The Guardians of the Forest”. The Ulvenians, however, were described as slouching, jeering, mischievous phantoms that busy themselves with practical joking, especially with gruesome joking.

Nassius Prime’s large, sprawling forests teemed with an abundance of wildlife. Dunebirds and thumpers scattered between trees, packs of wolfrats fed on the carcasses of dead beasts in meadows, and the trees were home to the arboreal vikal. Large and shaggy herbivores known as dermots rooted through the underbrush beneath the trees.

History[]

Nassius Prime was well known for its unusual natural resources and smugglers would often stop by the planet to collect some illegal rock specimens and sell them in the black market. Nassius Prime remained independent and unhindered throughout the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire. After the Empire fell, the Jelenans and Ulvenians indicated no desire to join the New Republic.
