The Morsian lightsaber crystal was a special type of Kyber Crystal found only on the planet Mors.
History[]
The crystal was found many years prior to the Jedi arrival on Mors, however it was unknown as to its main function. The crystals were dark, dense and strong, often used as precious stones and gems for decorative purposes.
After the Jedi arrived and the Morsians discovered the rest of the galaxy, a Morsian Jedi returned to the planet and discovered that the black crystals were actually very useful for creating a Lightsaber, as an alternative to the colored Kyber Crystals often used by the Jedi. The crystals made the blade a dark black color which helped distinguish it from other Jedi lightsabers. Morsian Jedi would usually use the crystals from Mors to make their lightsaber, making the color and crystals associated with Morsian Jedi.
The same Morsian Jedi taught the Morsians how to build their own lightsabers, which gave rise to lightsabers being used by the Morsian Army, all being built with the same crystals at their centre. The crystals were also exported out to the rest of the galaxy as precious stones and gems, being used in high class buildings and equipment all over the galaxy.
