The original crown
The Morsian crown was the arms of dominion and symbol used for the Morsian royal house in various points across its history. Within the Morsian Empire, the crown was used as the symbol for the Morsian Emperor and imperial household, and anything bearing it indicated imperial authority.
History[]
Early usage[]

The date of its inception was not known exactly, however the symbol came to be used for the Morsian kings of the Morsian Kingdom, where the symbol indicated royal decrees and the royal house. In addition, a section of the crown appeared on the flag of the kingdom, where it was placed behind the icon of a defensive wall in the center of the flag.
Discontinuation[]
With the fall of the Kingdom and rise of the Morsian Military Dictatorship and subsequent First Morsian Republic, the crown fell out of use, due to the lack of a royal house for it. The dictatorship abolished the monarchy in favor of the dictator, and the First Republic had no interest in becoming a constitutional monarchy and searching for a new monarch. Outside of archaeological finds or historic artefacts, the crown was all but forgotten.
Revival under the New Morsian Kingdom[]

The crown saw a resurgence with the formation of the New Morsian Kingdom in 15,617 BBY. This new state was a kingdom in name only, as the so-called monarch was in effect just a dictator, much like the military dictatorship of old. However, as a self-styled king, the dictator saw it fit to bring back the crown symbol, seeing it as a way of cementing his new "royal authority". The crown appeared on both official decrees as well as on the flag, though like the Morsian Kingdom before it, only the upper crown portion appeared.
Second discontinuation[]
When the New Morsian Kingdom fell and the Fourth Morsian Republic took its place in 15,580 BBY, the symbol once again fell out of use. Due to the oppressive nature of the New Morsian Kingdom, the Fourth Republic had no interest in finding a legitimate king. As a result, the crown once again was forgotten, relegated to the history books.
Revival under the Morsian Empire[]

The crown got a third chance at life when the Morsian Empire came into existence, where the prospective emperor decided to reuse the crown as a symbol of his imperial house. When the empire won the civil war, the crown was adopted as the symbol of the imperial house and that of the empire. Whilst the crown did not appear on the first iteration of the flag, when it came to redesigning the flag, the crown was placed on it. This was dropped with the second redesign, however.
Usage[]
The crown did not make an appearance on the main flag of the Morsian Empire, however it did appear on the pennant and vertical variants of the flag. These flag variants were both more official in nature, adorning government buildings almost exclusively, where imperial authority was paramount.
The crown also appeared on the standards of several legions in the Morsian Army. The first instance is on the standard of the 3rd legion. This legion was raised back during the existence of the Morsian Kingdom, when the crown at the time represented the king. As such, it was placed on the standard with a wreath, and despite the many Morsian governments that came and went, the crown remained the symbol of the 3rd legion. The 6th legion was raised shortly after the fall of the kingdom, and so the crown was placed on the standard as a leftover from the kingdom.
The Morsian Navy took a recolored version of the crown on the naval flag under the Morsian Empire. The crown was recolored and placed atop the symbol of a planet.
Another slight recolor of the crown appeared on the emblem of the Publicae Auxiliam, the police force of the Morsian Empire. The crown was placed atop a purple circle in which was the shield and vibroblade sword of the Publicae Auxiliam. The crown had a recolor to purple and green, whilst the main crown was made darker.
