Morsians (/mɔr si æn/) were the sole sentient inhabitants of the planet Mors in the Mortlekk system of The Galaxy.
Morsians evolved on Mors during the planet's Antiqua Aurora Age, when the first Morsians were hunched over bipedal humanoids that still relied on all four limbs for long distance movement. They were cave dwellers that rarely ventured to the hostile and dangerous surface so lived in the vast cave systems across Mors. To aid them with this, these early Morsians had large skulls that housed large eyes that were adept to seeing in the dark. They also had large ears to assist them in hearing both predators and prey in the darkness in the caves. It's also likely that they had large brains for the time as primitive tools and other effects were found of the early sentient life.
The Morsians eventually became bolder and stronger, venturing to the surface and remaining outside of the caves for longer and longer, eventually settling in settlements across the continents. They evolved to suit this new style of living, with their eyes and ears growing smaller due to the now abundance of light and sight lines that meant they didn't have to scrabble around in the dark. Over the time, various Morsian races settled the planet and through various wars the Morsian people were unified under the Morsian Empire.
When the Jedi discovered the planet and its people in 10,000 BBY, the Morsian people attempted to make permanent contacts in the galaxy but were unable to due to their inability to breath any atmosphere other than their own, resulting in their realisation that unless they could figure out a way to breath on other worlds, they were trapped on their own planet. Thankfully, over time they gained technology from the rest of the galaxy and developed atmospheric generators and breathing masks that allowed them to breath off-world.
Appearance[]
Morsians were taller than a regular Human, at between 2 and 2.4 meters tall. Like most sentients in the galaxy, they were bipedal with one head, two arms and two legs, however because of their planet, they looked far different to a Human, despite having the same sort of proportions. Morsians had no noses, with just the two nose holes that the cosmetic part of the nose covered. Due to the acidic nature of Mors, Morsians also had no hair at all on their bodies, and their blood was highly acidic, capable of burning through most materials if spilt. Their skin was a partially translucent green that revealed their veins and arteries under their skin, though not enough to show organs and bone. Morsians also had a far greater lifespan than most sentient species in the galaxy, at around 1,000 years.
