The Mission to the Empress Teta System was a mission to the Empress Teta System in 101 BBY during the Mezzilenic War.
Prelude[]
As the Mezzilenic War reached its height, the Coalition staged a daring raid on Coruscant to rescue the imprisoned politician Merix Valorum. However during the mission, Jedi Master Nin was captured by the Dark Lady Ugra and his apprentice Thame Cerulian swore to rescue him. However the war kept him from immediately fulfilling his promise and many other Jedi tried to convince him to give up his quest.
As the Coalition reeled from a Republic assault, the Jedi Mishtka Tek returned from her self-imposed exile following the debacle on Dac and told her master Tyvokka that she had discovered the base of the Dark Lady Ugra. When Tyvokka and the Jedi Council refused to support Tek's plan to lead a mission to take out Ugra, Tek sought out Cerulian and together they decided to ignore their superiors and deal with Ugra themselves.
In preparation for their trip to the Empress Teta system Thame contacted his master's old friend Hena Glotz who had promised to aid him in finding Nin, and she agreed to transport him to Ugra's base. Thame contacted his former Jedi commander Huris Von, who gave permission for volunteers to go on the mission but told them that the Council disapproved. Only two Jedi, the Ithorian Tan-do and the Zabrak Har Kieth volunteered to join Thame and Tek, although Von managed to transfer a force of Coalition troopers to support the Jedi.
Mission[]
Fight Through the Fortress[]
The mission arrived in the Empress Teta System in Glotz's ship and followed Tek's directions to Ugra's fortress on the system's capital. Sneaking in under the fortress's scanners, Glotz deposited the four Jedi and their support troops who then headed for the stronghold. However Ugra had by now sensed the Jedi's presence on the planet and she dispatched her forces to capture them. The Coalition group managed to bypass these patrols until they were within sight of the fortress when they were spotted by sentries patrolling the walls and a fire fight broke out. However the Jedi were able to cut their way through the scattered defenders and fight their way into the building, leaving half the troopers to prevent the patrolling enemy forces from pursuing them.
While the rearguard held out against overwhelming odds, Tek and Cerulian led the rest of their forces deeper into the fortress, cutting down any defenders who got in their way. Focusing on the dark side presence that they felt at the heart of the fortress, they headed straight towards it believing it to be Ugra. Breaking in to the room, they were confronted by a Sith holocron in the center of the room and the specter of an ancient Sith spirit. Revealing itself to be the Sith Lord XoXaan, it offered the Jedi wealth and power if they agreed to serve her but Tek ordered the Jedi to destroy the holocron.
Battle in the Holocron Chamber[]
However before the Jedi could move towards the holocron, Ugra arrived flanked by two bodyguards and a squad of soldiers. She told the Jedi to surrender but they refused so she ordered her forces to attack the group and while her bodyguards fought Tek and Kieth, Ugra engaged Cerulian and Tan-do as their support troops fired on each other. Ugra was able to outmaneuver her opponents and was able to fling Cerulian away before cutting open Tan-do's throat and killing him. Meanwhile Kieth took out the bodyguard he was engaging and cut his way through the enemy troops towards the holocron but was thrown aside by Ugra.
At this point Thame rushed back to battle Ugra and he tried to hold her off so that Kieth could recover and get to the holocron and destroy it. However Ugra defeated Thame and wounded him in the chest and was about to finish him off when Tek intervened, having killed the bodyguard she was fighting. Using her twin-bladed lightsaber she was able to hold her own against her opponent and she forced Ugra onto the back foot. At this point Kieth managed to reach the holocron and he began to use the force to try and break it apart but was assaulted by XoXaan's mental attacks. However Ugra called on the support of XoXaan and in a stunning display she cut Tek's lightsaber in two and decapitated her while she was caught off-guard. Ugra, seeing Thame lying on the floor, moved to finish him off when Kieth crushed the holocron using the force and was thrown back in the explosion. With her power severely weakened Ugra fled the room and her troops soon followed, allowing the Coalition troops to regroup. At that point Glotz arrived in her ship and was able to provide transport for the remaining troops and the two injured Jedi and they escaped the planet.
Aftermath[]
After the mission, the Jedi realized that Ugra was a far greater threat then they had realized and they decided that she would have to be removed in order to bring an end to the war. Kieth was left in a mentally weakened state after his encounter with the holocron and he was locked up in the Temple on Ossus shortly after, suffering from paranoia and nightmares. Thame recovered from his wounds and decided that it was time that he committed his efforts to finding his master and defeating Ugra. Meanwhile Ugra returned to Coruscant and told her ally Chancellor Mezzileen that it was time to crush the Coalition once and for all.
