Miranda Cenchu, during her career as a shockboxer.

Hell, why the kriff not? I get to see the galaxy on someone else's credits, and hopefully most days will involve a good fight.
—Miranda Cenchu, on why she joined the Republic Marines[src]

Miranda Cenchu, service number 6807-1287TK, also known as "Makeup", was a Human female from Alderaan who served in the Republic Marines prior to the Mandalorian Wars. She joined the Corps in order to help train herself for her future career as a shockboxer, since her home planet did not have a traditional league. She underwent training at the Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot on Corulag alongside Reeka Chorizzo and Laera Reyolé, under the strict and watchful eye of noted Gunnery Sergeant Tuffass. Unlike her compatriots, she did not succeed in earning her name in the eyes of the Gand drill instructor.

Miranda left the Corps after one term of enlistment, beginning her boxing career in earnest. Though she did have some skill as a fighter, she remained in various regional leagues in the Core Worlds, unable to find sponsors willing to back her on the galactic circuit.

Behind the scenes[]

The character, and to some degree the appearance, of Miranda Cenchu was inspired by Miranda Lawson, one of the lead protagonists in the computer and video games Mass Effect 2. Her final appearance is a modified portrait of Tyrnia Masak from Tyrnia Masak: Pit Fighter, edited by Trak Nar.
