Octa Nuun

The military forces of the Octom Coalition was greately intertwined with the everyday government. Responsible for carrying out military operations throughout the Coalition's space, it was also charged with maintaining order on member worlds and colonies.

During the early years of the Coalition, most of the Coalition's military personnel were smugglars and pirates, who had no actual allegience to the government. However, by the mid to late parts of the Coalition's history, most of its military personnel were especially recruited and trained to defend the Coalition's borders. Specially trained by Sith officers previously aligned with Darth Proditor, the Coalition offered a safe haven in exchange for the training of their military. Those recruited would be trained at the Octom Coalition's military academies on Anzat and Togoria, and were subject to the most rigorous training that the Sith Officers could offer.

Octomite fleet[]

The Octomite fleet, was the single largest military arm of the Octom Coalition, charged with maintaining security and control over the Octom Coalition's populous.

At its peak, it fielded hundreds of warships and fulfilled the Octa's will throughout the Coalition, and to a lesser extent, the galaxy.

After the defeat at the Battle of Krayt's fist, the Octom Coalition split up into warring factions led by warlords, and the Octomite fleet splintered along with it. While much of the remnants of the Octomite fleet were later reunited under the rightful leader – Nuun, the military organization ceased to exist shortly after his death at the battle of Togoria.

Specific responsibilities of the Octomite fleet included defending Octom citizens from space-based threats such as pirates, smugglers, and other armed governments, enforcing the Octa's will, and overseeing commerce; all the while helping to defend those it was defending against. The Octomite fleet was also capable of orbital bombardments, transporting major ground force deployments, and supporting them with space and aerial support.

It was also faster than any other similar ship of its time. Together, these made the Privateer an extremely pricey vessel. They were also known to utilize an advanced point defense weapon system that allowed the ships to actually shoot down enemy missiles or torpedoes before they damaged friendly ships, which made these corvettes a valuable support addition to a fleet.
