Midas Drast was a Human male who became the first elected Chancellor of the New Republic following the Hosnian Cataclysm and the subsequent wars which followed. During his term he formed the Galactic Defense Force and reunited the Galaxy under the Republic. After his term, he retired, dying years later.

Early Life[]
Born on Commenor to a middle-class family of schoolteachers, Midas Drast was well-educated and hoped to one day follow in his parents’ footsteps.
Political Career[]
Sometime in his adult life, Drast chose to pursue a career in politics and was elected Commenor’s senator.
Hosnian Cataclysm[]
During the destruction of the Hosnian System by the First Order’s Starkiller Base, Drast was on Commenor, celebrating his brother’s birthday. Upon hearing of the genocide, he rallied the surviving senators and they worked in secret to restore the Republic.
