  • Thanks for fixing an article for me. Could you please let me know what I did wrong on it? I tried to source an image. Did I do it in the wrong place?

      Loading editor
    • Are you referring to this edit? If so, I just removed the {{Information}} template from the image thumbnail caption. Sourcing & licensing belongs on the image's file description, not the mainspace article(s) on which the image is used. I was going to move the template over the image description myself, but it seems you already included the template when you uploaded the image. Everything's fixed now—nothing to worry about.

  • How do you add Era Icons? Sorry, but I just noticed you needed to have them and that my articles don't. Thanks for answers, and God bless!

      Loading editor
    • The Layout Guide only requires era icons for GAs & FAs—you don't technically need to have them. If you're writing fanon articles in the Canon continuity, I'd personally argue that you shouldn't have them, since present canon has no established publishing eras. That said, if you want to use them, you can use either Template:Continuity or the older Template:Eras to do so—Template:Continuity is basically an improved version of Template:Eras with some additional custom functionality, though both work identically when it comes to displaying icons. For reference's sake, this page is an example of a page using Continuity, while this page uses Eras.

To add era icons, you transclude your preferred template & provide a list of pipe-delimited strings denoting the desired era icons you want to display. For example, let's say your character participated in the Clone Wars & Galactic Civil War. The Legends publishing eras listing would define this character's life as falling in the Rise of the Empire & Rebellion eras. Looking at the icon listing, we can see that the icons related to these eras are named "imp" & "reb". We add these to the template & separate them with the pipe symbol ("|") like this: {{Eras|imp|reb}}. The template goes immediately above the infobox by convention.

Template:Continuity's identical when it comes to era icons themselves, though you can take advantage of its upgraded functionality via the inclusion of a few more optional fields. If your page's subject matter exists in the Legends continuity, you would format the template as {{Continuity|type=legends|imp|reb}}. If the article has a Canon counterpart, you could add a link to that page using the other= parameter like so: {{Continuity|type=legends|other=Article name here|imp|reb}}.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Hey Sebolto, i've noticed you've made a few edits to my Sentinel squad page, one of which states it's not written in past tense, i've been looking for a while and cant find out where I made a mistake on that end.

If you could let me know where the mistake is that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • Hey there. The problem area is the last sentence under the "Fate" heading:

"It is unknown what happened to CT-4506 and CT-1059 after Order 66"

In addition to lacking a period, this sentence is not written in historical past tense. Per the "Perspective and tense" section of the Manual of Style, all in-universe fanon articles must be written in historical past tense. The only section of an in-universe fanon article exempt from this requirement is a meta "Behind the scenes" section that includes ancillary out-of-universe information.

  • Hey Sebolto, I uploaded an image for my avatar, but it hasn't prompted me anything for sourcing or licensing. I'll change it back to a default avatar, but how do I source it?

Thanks for answers, and God bless!

      Loading editor
    • No need! User avatars are not stored as images on the wiki—they're stored to Fandom's servers directly, so there's nothing to source or license. You can change your avatar to anything you like without having to worry about the Image Policy. I appreciate that you thought to ask though. Cheers!

  • could you please delete a page I just made? I created it before I could find the information I needed to finish it. "Vervix System" Thanks.

    • Done. By the way, taking a look at the page's content, I noticed you were trying to display information in a pseudo-wikitable format. You may find this page to be a useful resource for formatting information in a tabular layout.

    • No problem. Since you mentioned previously that you were working on updating a lot of articles, I figured I'd help fix up a few of them myself rather than simply tag them all with maintenance templates.

    • Hey there. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

If you wish to continue editing pages created by the User:LadyVader account, I'm going to need you to log in to that account & reply to this thread as proof that you are the same person behind both accounts. To quote the Participation Guidelines, "If you have lost or forgotten your account password, use the 'lost password' feature or, in the event that the feature fails, contact Wikia staff." The Staff contact tool may be found here for use in the event that you cannot access the LadyVader account.

Additionally, as the aforementioned Participation Guidelines forbid the usage of multiple accounts, you will need to select one (1) account with which to edit on Star Wars Fanon & inform Bureaucrat Sakaros of your preferred choice. The other account will likely be blocked per administrative precedent.

Reply to this thread if you have questions or require clarification. Thanks!

    • Thanks. I was only using the other account temporarily because I'd lost my password to this account. I wasn't trying to sockpuppet intentionally.

  • Hello Sebolto,

I hope you're not angry at my content today, ive been more active than usual to compensate for my absence.

Im at least happy to see you guys have read part of my wiki page and I see the date of deletion in a positive light (at least now I have an end date for the project). Ive been reading the manual of style because the first couple times I had some confusion on some aspects but now I understand much better. I see that technically my page is in-universe as opposed to out-of (originally I thought it meant something else).

It seems Im left with a question however: my writing style of my wiki page is almost like a narration, especially with the combat history of the 416th star corps. I understood that when this happens, a new page should be created for the event. However, I was wondering if this needed to be done even with between-battle events which are unofficial and only serve to explain context for battle conclusions and battle introductions.

I now see that I did take a very interesting subject to dig in however the load is probably too big for a new-to-wikying forum poster. I hope to have some success into finishing my work before the deletion date. Hopefully my collegue will help me in efficiently writing my 416th star corps.
