Hello Chat Moderator man, it is I, edit war extraordinaire. I'm contacting you to provide prior notice of an upcoming RFB vote to elect SakarosBureaucrat. As a member of the administrative team, your opinion on the matter is particularly welcome, & I'd encourage you to weigh in & voice your thoughts on the nomination if you have the time. The nomination is expected to go live this Saturday, May 2nd, & conclude on May 9th, provided no extension is required. Cheers!
Yeah I forgot it was specifically a voting policy requirement, in the old days I was told the time stamp was not required. However back then discussions with signatures outside of voting were actually common. XD Oops. Old habit.
Hello, I'm Sakaros, Star Wars Fanon Administrator and host of the Fifteenth Wiki Awards! Since you've been an active contributor here on Star Wars Fanon in the last year, I'd like to invite you to take part in this year's Wiki Awards in celebration of the best fanon & fan fiction our wiki has to offer!
Hey! Regarding your last vote in the WAs, your signature lists the date as "06:17, March 18, 2019 (UTC)" which is technically past the end date of the voting period as listed here. However, since I failed to specify a timezone end time & since I don't know what your timezone is exactly, it's entirely possible that you slipped in a vote late on the 17th in your timezone. Is this the case? If so, since I failed to specify a timezone-specific end time, we can go with the tiebreaker I set up. If not, I can just strikethrough the last vote & call the contest complete. Let me know! (:
I was expecting it to be reverted because it was not only the 18th in the UK but like 1 AM here. But I wasn't sure if the voting ended at PST. I really don't care though. You can revert it or not revert it. Not a big deal.
Hey! Regarding Thread:206723, I just wanted to clarify to you why my message might have seemed lacking in sourcing/licensing examples, which I'm guessing is the reason you offered assistance on the thread. This user has been educated about the sourcing/licensing process by Sak in the past & provided plenty of assistance—see here. My message was simply an addendum to that ongoing discussion. As a result, I didn't provide any duplicate links to Sak's tutorial or offer any examples, since Sak had already covered that.
Anyhow, I just felt like I needed to clear that up. Out of context, I realized that message probably made me look like some sort of iron-fisted policy hound! I usually provide lots of links to the relevant tutorial examples, but this is something of a special case since the user is already familiar with the process. (:
I didn't mean to insinuate anything. I got what you were saying clearly/you did fine with the info you provided. Had I known the history of everything I would have handled it differently. Just seemed like they didn't get what was said at a textual level so maybe a visual lesson would have been better. It was more their reaction than anything you did. I just tried to give them another way to understand what you said. My fault.
No, no, your examples certainly helped out! It's nothing you did that prompted this message, it was just that I reread my message after you posted & realized that I might have appeared too heavy-handed or unhelpful without the context. If you had no issues with what I wrote, it might just be because I'm still pretty uncomfortable with this moderator thing & I'm second-guessing everything I do. I appreciate your help as always! (:
Hey! Did you mean for this to be on the mainspace or was it supposed to be a category? I'm going to guess the latter given your earlier edits, but I wanted to make sure with you first before I move/recreate anything. Thanks! (:
