The Mesa Temple was a Jedi temple located on Temple Mesa on Shimka's Well. Originally built by Master Shimka and his disciples, it served as the equivalent of the High Council Chamber on Coruscant, where Master Shimka and his fellow Jedi Masters deliberated on various topics in private. It was built over the entrance to an ancient Zeffonian chamber, requiring a special key to access, and was later used as an emergency shelter. During its construction, Zhavi and Isla Waverunner were warned by a mysterious stranger that the localized shield protecting the temple needed to be stronger than they had initially planned.
In 66 ATC, Shimka's Well was attacked by the Hutt businessman Gaddim, who – under the direction of the extra-galactic Zhaelor Vong – sent a small suicide fleet to bomb the planet. While prepared for the attack, the planet nonetheless came under threat when two bomb-laden starfighters managed to breach the atmosphere before the planetary shield could be raised. Thanks to the stranger's warning, the Mesa Temple's shields were strong enough to repel the attack, though the rest of Temple Mesa was leveled and had to be reconstructed in an ongoing process that lasted several years.
