The Melasatonians were a race of ape-like humanoids native to the Outer Rim planet Melasaton. They shared some traits with the Tarro of Tililix.
Biology and appearance[]
The Melasatonians were 2-meter-tall ape-like humanoids with gray skin, blue fur, and large yellow eyes. They also have seven clawed digits on each hand and foot, large foreheads, and sharp teeth.
Society and culture[]
Melasatonians could work for any affiliation and occupation, and could speak in a language which consists of ape-like grunts and growls. They could also speak Basic. They were one of the 5 million sentient species (alien races) known to the Empire in the galaxy.
History[]
The Melasatonians were the sentient descendants of a non-sentient primate species. They evolved on Melasaton, a temperate planet located in the Melasaton system within the Jjannex sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Their homeworld was explored between 3000 BBY to 1000 BBY during the Blazing of Hydian to Ruusan. It fell into the area of space known as the Western Reaches. They shared their home sector with the Jjannexians, the Pristateans, and the Yunkorians. They were rescued from a famine by the work of Jenna Zan Arbor, during the last decades of the Old Republic. In 25 ABY, their homeworld's population was up to 10 million. Their homeworld became a part of the Darth Krayt's Sith Empire in 137 ABY.
