Rise of the Empire era

Marsis Rand was a Jedi General during the Clone Wars He lead the 252nd Attack battalion. He was trained as a Jedi by Kaila Shan, who was killed during the Battle of Geonosis. During the war, Marsis led the men of Red company, as well as a group called the "fox pack;" the "fox pack" was known for having the best clone troopers that served under Rand.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Marsis Rand was born on the planet Coruscant. He was taken into the Jedi Order at a young age due to his potential as a Jedi and was selected by Jedi Master Kaila Shan. As a young boy, Marsis befriended a young Human named Jadak Sturm, and they became good friends and often got into trouble together in the Jedi Temple. Master Mace windu formed a grudge against the pair when they programed several training remotes to constantly follow and crash into him.

One of Rand's first missions with his master was a mission to guard a senator on his way to Coruscant. The mission was a failure, though, because the co-pilot of the Consular-class cruiser was an assassin who killed the senator before reaching Coruscant.

The Clone Wars[]

In 22 BBY, Jedi Master Mace Windu organized a group of Jedi to travel to Geonosis and rescue Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padawan Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padmé Amidala, who were being held prisoner by Count Dooku; Shan and Rand were chosen to be part of this group. Both Shan and Jadak were killed during the ensuing battle, which began the Clone Wars. For years after the death of his friend and his master, Rand suffered from occasional flashbacks, as well as the constant thought that he could have saved them if he would have fought harder.

During the war, Rand participated in several missions across the galaxy. During this time, he became a Jedi General upon his promotion to Jedi Knight, and led the clone troopers of Red company. He also led the "fox pack," which was made up of the best clones who served under him.

Mission to Hoth[]

During the mission to Hoth, Rand was ordered to take out the droids that were trying to set up a base there. He landed his command ship, the Constellation, in a wide valley in the planet's northern sector, very close to where the droids had a large base. When he and fellow Jedi Barriss Offee attacked the base, he was forced to engage General Grievous in an effort to keep the droid general from killing his troops. Rand's skill with the Juyo form payed off; Grievous had to retreat back into the base and return to Vassek. The base was captured by the Republic, and the droids retreated farther back into the planet. Master Mace Windu's troopers later finished the fighting.

Mission to Felucia[]

During the mission to Felucia, Rand was supposed to help the Republic forces on the planet. While on the surface, he found that he and Ofee were falling in love. He also helped fend off several droid attacks and saved a village of natives by using the Force to stop the bombs that were being dropped on it. During an attack on a droid base, while Rand was separated from the fox pack and Ofee, he was forced to engage both General Grievous and Count Dooku in a duel. He attacked Dooku and was stabbed in the stomach, and the two Separatist leaders left him for dead. Ofee was able to stabilize Rand before his wounds killed him. He later spent time in a bacta tank in a medical station above the planet. During his time on the medical station, he and Ofee shared a Kiss, which was when he realized his feelings for her.

Powers and Abilities[]

Marsis used many powers, mostly force push and saber throw. He also knew Battle meditation, which he learned from his Master about 3 years before the start of the clone wars. Rand was skilled in Form VII or The Juyo form. He also had some skill for Jar Kai. Marsis could use force push with a great deal of skill. He could push entire groups of enemies with ease, as well as blow down barriers using it.
