Marshal General was the second-highest military rank within the Separatist Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, being below only the Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies. There were around one hundred Marshal Generals, each of whom commanded a Region Army, comprising all Separatist Droid Army forces allocated to a specific area of the galaxy. The number of battle droids under the authority of a Marshal General amounted to an average of ten billion.
As the entirety of their forces would generally never be in the same place at once, most Marshal Generals were far away from the front lines and mainly gave orders to subordinate generals. However, a few who held the rank, such as Yosip Zagoonga, took command of smaller armies to fight the Galactic Republic.
