There are citizens loyal to the Empire on every planet in this galaxy. They are already getting sick of this New Republic and its rules and regulations.
—Marialex Bricall, to the Shadow Council[1]

Marialex Bricall was a Human female native of Kuat who served as a high-ranking military officer of the Galactic Empire and renowned Loyalty officer of the Imperial Security Bureau, then as the leader of a significant Imperial remnant that operated largely within the Outer Rim Territories. A strong admirer of Darth Vader, the Emperor's Fist and de facto Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Military, who's unquestioning authority and leadership she considered the sign of a true galactic leader, Marialex Bricall, while unable to utilize or harness the powers of the Force herself, would secretly but ultimately become a worshiper to the Dark side of the Force and a Sith cultist loyal to the Children of Vader, a cult dedicated to worshiping, then later honoring, the legacy of Vader, which Marialex secretly became one of the leaders for. Indeed, Bricall's opinion of Vader grew to the point where she considered the Sith Lord the true ruler of the Empire, believing his services to it entitled him to rule the galaxy, rather than Emperor Sheev Palpatine, and the relationship between the two would be considered by some to be that of an unofficial master and apprentice when it came to battle tactics and strategies. As one of Darth Vader's most dedicated followers in the Imperial High Command, Marialex Bricall acted as the Dark Lord of the Sith's personal envoy on several occasions, including reporting the results of Project Stardust, more precisely the first Death Star itself, and was aboard to witness the destruction of Jedha City in Vader's steed before returning to his fortress on Mustafar with Director Orson Callan Krennic to report the superweapon's results to her master. Bricall had also accompanied Vader previously to Lothal when he visited to examine the danger posed by the Spectres and eliminate their rebel group, personally captaining the blockade that Vader ordered established over the planet.

A veteran of the Galactic Civil War that saw action at both Endor and Jakku, the latter of which saw the banner of the Galactic Empire thrown down and replaced by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Marialex Bricall would ultimately outlive the reign of her Empire and emerged a warlord in command of her own splinter faction of the larger Imperial regime, which had fractured into numerous holdouts following the rebel victory the desert planet Jakku. Representing her remnant on the reconstructed Shadow Council, though she outwardly declared her desire to restore the Galactic Empire to its former glory, Marialex and the Children of Vader in truth secretly sought the creation of a Sith Empire formed through the Shadow Council which the Sith cultists intended to use as a means to reshape the galaxy in the image of their fallen master, Darth Vader. Faithful to the Dark Lord, who's spirit she believed guided her and her allies' actions even in death, Marialex rejected the blood shared between her deceased idol and Senator Leia Organa when it was revealed that she and her brother Luke were the children of the Sith Lord. Rather, she saw both as being disgraces to their sire's legacy and instead considered members of the Sith cult which she belonged to be the true sons and daughters of Lord Vader, by faith if not by family. Having risen to become one of the leaders of the Children of Vader, who thus referred to Bricall by the honorific title of 'Master', the services that Marialex provided to the group were invaluable, her influence allowing her to establish ties between the cult and various former Imperials and their sympathizers, including a large number of the Empire's noble families that had lived like royalty during Palpatine's reign, but had since experienced a fall from grace. Using the desire within such individuals to see the Galactic Empire return as a means to convert them as adherents and allies to the Children of Vader and their vision of a new Sith Empire governed in Darth Vader's name, Marialex Bricall constructed a vast network of agents implanted throughout the galaxy, developing a range of influence that stretched from the scattered Imperial fragments to within the leadership of the New Republic itself. By 5 ABY, Marialex had enabled the Children of Vader to secretly amass countless sympathizers and sleeper agents among the old Imperial administration and its supporters

As an Imperial warlord, meanwhile, Marialex Bricall stood as an advocate for action on the Shadow Council, which included the likes of Captain Gilad Pellaeon and Commandant Brendol Hux, the latter of whom stood in representation of Grand Admiral Rae Sloane. Vocal in her beliefs that despite its fall from grace, there still existed many citizens loyal to the Galactic Empire on every planet that, by the day, grew ever more tired of the New Republic, which had succeeded the Rebel Alliance, and the new laws and stipulations that existed under its rule, which she expressed to her fellow Council members at a holographic meeting held in 9 ABY, Marialex Bricall's statement was supported by another warlord, who proposed that the Shadow Council make a demonstration that would reveal their true strength and thus motivate such sympathizers to take action against the 'Rebel Alliance'. In that same meeting, Marialex Bricall spoke with approval of Moff Gideon's suggestion that the Shadow Council, rather than continue to await the return of the Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo, known better by his core name "Thrawn", instead elect a leader from among their ranks, although Marialex Bricall did not take the claims made to the Chiss Imperial commander's return lightly, taking into account the possibility that if Thrawn could return or be found, so to could the Jedi Ezra Bridger, who Bricall considered significantly responsible for the Empire's downfall and a far greater threat to both the Imperials and the Children of Vader that any danger the missing Luke Skywalker might pose. Gideon would also reveal his suspicions that the Mandalorians were seeking to recolonize their homeworld, where the Moff had his headquarters, which greatly concerned Marialex Bricall, who worried the danger that the warrior-people of Mandalore could poise to her remnant and the Children of Vader's plan for a newborn Empire controlled by Vader's loyalists. As a result, she swiftly supported Gideon's requests that additions be made to his forces, namely in the form of a trio of Imperial Praetorian Guards sent from the Unknown Regions Imperial Remnant and additional reinforcements to Gideon's personal squadron of TIE/IN interceptors and TIE/sa Bombers from the other remnants controlled by those present, including Bricall, who concluded the hologram conference with a shouted chant of praise to the longevity of the Galactic Empire, which she chanted in union with her fellow Imperial leaders.

Personality and traits[]

I have people all across the galaxy, all poised and ready to serve. In all the other Imperial remnants and the so-called 'First Order'. In every syndicate and corporation, on every world and astronomical object that is habitable. Inside the 'New Republic', the Senate, the Army. I have thousands of sympathizers throughout the galaxy, supporters with the old Imperial families, co-conspirators with the Empire's old leaders, dissidents among the civilian populace, assets within the Republic, defectors from the Rebel Alliance, spies inside every independent holding, whole fleets concealed and ready to strike. Ready to take back this galaxy in the name of each and every one of them. And in the name of the one almighty ruler, Vader. They have been recruited, bought, sold, persuaded, loved, threatened, blackmailed, lied to, told the truth. They are mine; they are his, and they are everywhere!
—Marialex Bricall, in her speech to the members of both her Imperial remnant and the Children of Vader, wherein she demonstrated her complex wishes for the future, but also her simple and utter admiration for Darth Vader.

Darth Vader, the Sith Lord that mentored Bricall and to whom she was fiercely devoted to.

Marialex Bricall was a Human female with blue eyes, black hair and fair skin. An ardent supporter of Darth Vader, Marialex served as practically an extension of her informal master’s will, following his commands without question and was considered by some to be not only the Emperor's Fist's personal aide, but also the unspoken equivalent of a non-Force sensitive apprentice. Vader himself personally acknowledged his student's ambition and took note of it. Initially, Bricall was noticeably not as levelheaded as her master, however, and she lacked patience at times; so much so that when Vader, parted ways with her with orders to rendezvous with his fleet before the Battle of Endor, his final piece of advice to her was that impatience for victory will guarantee defeat. Marialex was horrified when she discovered her master's helmet within the Death Star ruins, but even knowing he was dead, Bricall still swore to uphold the Dark Lord's legacy, vowing to create for him a galaxy that was built in Vader's image. Throughout her campaign to defeat the Republic, Bricall dedicated her cause to Vader and, in a public addressal of the galaxy, dressed herself in a manner meant to resemble him and demonstrate her allegiance, proclaiming that worlds would burn in her lord's name.
