Mandalore the Sentinel (Te Aran'verd Mand'alor in Mando'a) was a female Mandalorian who lived during the New Sith Wars. She successfully united the remaining clans on Mandalore itself to claim the title of Mandalore. She chose her epithet ("the Sentinel") to fit the role she envisioned for herself: protecting Mandalorian Space against invasion and serving as a watchful eye and a check on the ambitions of both the New Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic in the area. In homage to this vision, her followers dubbed themselves the Guardian Mandalorians.
Many Mandalorians followed her, but many more did not, and Mandalore the Sentinel was ever-conscious of her diminished ability to protect her people in the event of a concerted attack. While she made efforts to expand Mandalore's control and swell the ranks of her followers, she also propagated beliefs that her society was more powerful than it really was. In 1,386 BBY, she sent Damis Myragon and Arkyr Rentol to Circumtore to buy a nuclear bomb Runganna the Hutt was auctioning; they failed, but returned with a quantity of beskar.
