The Mandalore Resurgency, also known as the Mandalorian Templar Empire or simply as the New Mandalorian Empire, was a small but powerful nation of mandalorians that followed the teachings of Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorain Jedi in known history. The Mandalore Resurgency was based out of wild space to the galactic north east, only a few dozen light years from Belkadan. The Mandalore Resurgency had laid claim to planets within the grid coordinates of K-1, L-1, M-1 and N-1 before the Resurgency Wars. The Mandalore Resurgency was governed by a council of Force-sensitive Templars who oversaw every aspect of government of the nation.

History[]

Founding the Mandalorian Templars[]

At some point before Tarre Vizsla's passing, he grew distrustful of the Jedi Order and their role as protectors of order. Instead of voicing his concerns, he traveled through Mandalorian territory and gathered Force-sensitive Mandalorians whom he trained in secret away from the eyes of the Jedi Order. He dubbed this organization the Mandalorian Templars and trained over fifty Mandalorian Templars.

An exploring Templar, named Owmark Tul, discovered a temperate planet deep within Wild Space to the galactic north and reported his findings to Tarre Vizsla. Tarre quickly decided to move the Mandalorian Templars to the planet, which would be called Mundal. Tarre handed over control of the Templars to Owmark Tul while he stayed behind in the known galaxy to avoid raising suspicion from the Jedi Order about his activities.

Tarre, after returning to the galaxy from Mundal, quickly became more ambitious with the Mandalorian Templars. He wanted to create a new Mandalorian nation away from the interference of outside forces, such as the Jedi. To achieve his ambition, he got in contact with several Mandalorian Houses and planned their disappearance from the face of the galaxy. Tarre orchestrated the different Houses' sudden demises by pitting them against each other. The Houses would use bombs to bomb each other's outposts and headquarters, so that the vast majority of the Houses' members would seemingly die in the explosions. In reality, the facilities were emptied out, and bodies from prisoners and other scum collected by the Houses were used as stand-ins. Those members who weren't at the supposed bombings were ordered to first disappear into the Outer Rim and fake their deaths before they made their way back to Mundal.

Founding an empire[]

With a population numbering roughly in the hundreds of thousands, Tarre established the first settlement on Mundal and named the settlement Ishas. After establishing Ishas and proclaiming Tul Supreme Grandmaster of the Mandalorian Templars, Tarre Vizsla left his followers behind, never to return again.

Thousands of years went by with the Mandalorian Templars exploring and claiming the wilderness of Mundal and the rest of the Tepra System. Ishas became a thriving metropolis and the seat of power of the Mandalorian Templars. A massive temple was built in the center of Ishas and became the first temple erected by the Templars and would be named Mundal High Temple but would also later go under the name Central High Temple sometime before 40 ABY.

The Mandalorian Templars expanded from the Tepra System and colonized over fifty other systems centered around the Tepra System. Seeing that the Houses not led by a Templar were beginning to stir unrest with the absolute authority of the Templar Grand Council, the Grand Council decided to reorganize their entire society to better include non-force-sensitive individuals into the government. This eventually led to the founding of the Mandalore Resurgency, a stratocracy that saw every aspect of the government controlled by the Templar orders.

A few Houses opposed the change brought by the Grand Council, and a civil war broke out. The civil war was bloody, but eventually, the Mandalore Resurgency emerged victorious.

Saveran Plague[]

The Saveran Plague was a horrible crisis that took place only roughly a decade after the end of the civil war. The Saveran Plague was a genetic disease that rapidly mutated its victims into Saveran Mutants. The plague could be transmitted through air and fluids. The plague was created by rogue Templar Gauro Savera, who sided with the separatists during the civil war through dark side alchemy. The Saveran Plague was never used during the civil war as it was deemed too dangerous to unleash and therefore was sealed away in a hidden bunker on the planet of Juvum IV. The bunker was discovered by scavengers almost a decade later and unintentionally unleashed the plague upon the inhabitants of Juvum IV.

The plague quickly spread across the planet through the high winds and infected hundreds of thousands within days.

Territories[]

Territories Pre-Mandalore Resurgency Wars[]

The Mandalore Resurgency was made up of fifty star systems spread widely from each other due to the low density of stars so far from the core. The Resurgency had colonized around a hundred worlds within these star systems, largely due to terraforming efforts that had taken centuries if not millennia to complete. Mundal was the capital planet of the Mandalore Resurgency, which was located near the western edge of its territories. The Central High Temple of the Mandalorian Templars was also located on the planet and was the overall headquarters of the Templars.

Post-Mandalore Resurgency Wars[]

In the aftermath of the Mandalore Resurgency Wars, the Resurgency had swelled to several times its initial size. Having managed to conquer the vast majority of the Northern Outer Rim and even some space in the Mid Rim.

The Mandalore Resurgency came to border the Confederacy of Corporate Systems and the New Republic as its most powerful neighbors, while a few planets and governments within Wild Space to its north were still independent from any of the major powers after the Wars. Plans to expand into the northern Wild Space were considered several times after the war, but the tolls from the previous wars, as well as the New Republic keeping a watchful eye on the Resurgency, delayed such plans. The plans were finally put into action with the start of the Asmar Imperium-New Republic War where the Resurgency saw its chance with the New Republic military focused elsewhere.

Culture[]

The Mandalore Resurgency placed great emphasis on honor and glory in battle. The people of the Resurgency were warriors first and foremost. While not everyone was a warrior, many had at the very least learned to handle a blaster and how to defend themselves. Many strived to achieve honor and achievements through their calling in life, though glory gained through battle was seen as the greatest form of glory. Warriors of the Resurgency were especially focused on being granted a glorious death in combat so that they, according to their religion, could gain a greater unification with the Force once they died.

Religion[]

The Mandalore Resurgency's state religion was an odd mix of the Mandalorian faith and the Jedi's faith in the Force. Many saw it as a warrior's faith where one would be elevated to a higher standing once one died and became one with the Force. While this was true to a degree, one didn't necessarily have to march into battle and die to achieve a high standing, but many believed that the greatest standings were only achievable through battle and by dying in battle.

Government[]

The Mandalore Resurgency was, at a time, ruled by the Chamber of Grand Templars, which was composed of the five Grand Templars who each administered one of the five major Templar temples. Their rule was eventually replaced by the Hall of Houses after the Chamber lost political power in the aftermath of the Saveran Plague. The Hall of Houses was made up of rulers from individual houses, which formed political alliances within the Hall. The Templar Orders' influence and political power were near null during the reign of the Hall of Houses. As time went on, the Templar Orders became more and more infused with the regular armed forces of the Mandalore Resurgency, making them eventually indistinguishable in many ways yet they were still separated in some ways.

Over the centuries after the formation of the Hall of Houses, the Templar Orders once more gained political and military power and were allowed into the Hall of Houses which was reformed into the Council of Houses and Orders. The leadership of the Templar Orders at this point had nearly full control over the military forces. The Council of Houses and Orders reintroduced the Chamber of Grand Templars as an organization under its authority but also kept the Hall of Houses which would hold the same power as the Chamber.

A political crisis would eventually lead to the disbandment of the Hall of Houses when the rulers of the Houses were placed under suspicion of corruption. The Resurgency Military, led by the Templar Orders, took over all forms of government and political movements within the military and established the title of Legate of the Mandalore Resurgency, a title which bestowed the overall command over all military forces and assets available to the Mandalore Resurgency and, by extension, the complete control over the government and citizenry of the nation. As of 45 ABY, The title of Legate of the Mandalore Resurgency was held by Vau Narsharr.

After the establishment of the title of Legate of the Mandalore Resurgency and the political switch towards a stratocracy, the members of the Hall of Houses were forced to enter the military to keep their positions. This forced many Houses to either directly join the military as what is known as Military Houses while others stepped down from their political offices and formed what is simply called Houses or sometimes nicknamed Citizen Houses as their members were not forced to enter military service as long as the Houses' heads held political positions within the different ministries or the Hall of Houses.

Technology[]

The Mandalore Resurgency's technology was considered to be inferior to highly technological factions, such as the dissolved First Order and the Sith Eternal. From a military perspective, only their advanced military training gave them an edge in battle. Equipment, like their blasters, was considered old by comparison to First/Last Order weaponry.

During the Mandalore Resurgency Wars, the Mandalorians introduced a series of battle droids to supplement their forces on occupied worlds as unrest and resistance against Resurgency rule, as well as casualties, started to take their toll on the Resurgency's military manpower. These droids' personalities were programmed by being based on outstanding soldiers who had their neural pathways scanned and digitally replicated before being installed into the droids. This allowed for the combat droids to develop a sense of belonging in the Mandalore Resurgency society as well as see their organic brothers in arms as comrades instead of masters. The combat droids were also given full sentience, though a hidden, dormant termination program was planted into their cores in the event that they would go rogue and rise up against the Mandalore Resurgency.

Military[]

Recruitment[]

The Mandalore Resurgency Military primarily got their recruits from Houses either in the ways of enlistment if the recruit came from a Citizen House or through conscription as part of the laws for a Military House. Dishonored Resurgency citizens could also enlist as a way to regain their honor through battle. If the dishonor was truly severe, the dishonored could even be demanded to enlist their children or other descendants for military service in the hope that they would be able to regain their family members' honor.

Mandalore Resurgency Army[]

The Mandalore Resurgency Army, also known as the Resurgency Army, was the ground-based forces of the Mandalore Resurgency. The Army was under the Army Command which in turn was under the Surface High Command which also had authority over the Droid Corps Command, Legion Command, and Special Force Ground Command.

The Army's regular forces were mostly based on highly mobile and flexible troops who were well-trained and equipped. Soldiers recruited or conscripted into the Army were pushed through a series of tests over the course of a month which would serve to rate their skills before they joined the Army. Depending on one's rating, a recruit would be placed into a training platoon of equal ratings. Training and military education would take about four months. Those of low rating would have their training courses extended for up to four months extra compared to those of higher ratings to make up for their lack of skill.

Equipment-wise, the standard Resurgency trooper was equipped with a KEBRAN blaster rifle, an extraordinarily powerful blaster rifle for its size. Troops were also equipped with blaster pistols and vibroknives for side arms and high explosive grenades, such as thermal detonators, and fragmentation grenades. Soldiers were also issued Resurgency Combat Armor with an inbuilt jet-pack as well as several wrist slots for equipment such as wrist blasters, flamethrowers, or energy shield bucklers. Every soldier was also issued a medi-pack while a Resurgency Army Medic would be issued a medic bag pack which contained a more extensive inventory of medical equipment than medi-packs.

More specialized weapons included rocket launchers, heavy repeater cannons, and sniper rifles, mines, and various other explosives.

Resurgency Protectors[]

Initially intended to serve the same role as their counterparts, the Mandalorian Protectors, the Resurgency Protectors were tasked with keeping and overseeing the balance of the warrior culture of the Mandalorians and serving as the bodyguards of the ruler of the Mandalore Resurgency. Eventually, these tasks were subsided as the Resurgency became more centralized and the balancing of the warrior culture was handed over to the Resurgency Overseers. The Protectors instead became an elite organization within the Resurgency Army. While organized under the Army, the Resurgency Protectors answered to the Special Force Ground Command but could be temporarily transferred to Army Command at a case-to-case request.

Clan Legions[]

While far more centralized than Mandalorian society during the Imperial Era in the wider Galaxy, Mandalorian clans within the Resurgency were still allowed to maintain their own standing forces which the government had no actual power over. Clans were held solely accountable for their warriors' actions and these actions always came back to affect the whole clan. In times of great need, the military could issue a call to arms where clans could contribute their personal forces to the military temporarily. These warriors would be organized into Clan Legions and commanded by the most experienced among the individual legions. Any spoils of war that the soldiers claimed were considered theirs and their Clan's; this included Foundlings as well. A detachment of Resurgency Overseers could always be found attached to any given Clan Legion. It was the Overseers' job to make sure that any infighting between the warriors from different clans didn't damage the integrity of the legion. Every Clan Legion was organized under the Legion Command, which was a permanent military organization under the Surface High Command.

Mandalore Resurgency Droid Corps[]

The Droid Corps was a branch of the Mandalore Resurgency's Army that encompassed all combat droids utilized. The vast majority of the branch's personnel was made up of FT-21 Combat Droids, recognizable by their triangular-shaped heads with "ear"-shaped sensor and communication systems. Another variant of the FT-21 was the FT 21a Assault Droid, specifically designed for assaults on enemy positions. The FT-21 stood just shy of 2 meters tall and was humanoid in shape. Many FT-21s became self-preservative to a sudden degree and would request light body armor to further protect them against damage. Many soldiers of the Mandalore Resurgency came to greatly respect the FT-21 series, with some even going so far as to adopt some into their clan as fully fleshed members.

The HHS-900 Mega Combat droid was a truly massive droid geared towards anti-tank and anti-fortification roles. They were outfitted with powerful weaponry that could easily rival that of a main battle tank and were heavily armored and shielded with powerful energy shields. Due to their raw power and the energy needed to power their huge bodies and strong energy shields, the HHS-900s were outfitted with a much simpler and less energy-consuming processing core. This resulted in the HHS-900 series becoming a lot less intelligent than the FT-21 series, and they often needed guidance during battle to truly bring out their full potential. HHS-900 Mega Droids stood at around 14 meters tall, were roughly humanoid in shape, and were usually bulky but still very flexible for their size. They were usually equipped with Torrent-750 heavy laser cannons or Titanic-211 Ultra heavy laser cannons. In addition, the HHS-900 could be outfitted with shoulder-mounted grenade launchers or rocket launchers.

Mandalore Resurgency Navy[]

The Mandalore Resurgency Navy, also known as the Resurgency Navy, was the naval branch of the Mandalore Resurgency Military. The Navy oversaw all space operations, including ferrying Army soldiers to battlefields and conducting anti-piracy operations.

The Resurgency Navy was controlled by the Unified Naval High Command, which had authority over the Naval Command, the Marine Command, the Naval Logistics Command, and the Fighter Corps Command.

The Resurgency Navy was primarily composed of the Actorian-class Battleship, the Eradian-class Supercarrier, the Operion-class Cruiser, the Illandion-class Heavy Frigate, and the Unarrian-class Frigate. The Resurgency Navy primarily used two starfighters, the Crecadus-class Multirole Heavy Starfighter and the Luandris-class Interceptor. For transporting material and deploying troops to the battlefield, the Navy made use of the Desidus-class Dropship.

Mandalorian Templar Orders[]

The Mandalorian Templar Orders were the Force-sensitive soldiers trained in the ways of the Force and Mandalorian warfare. Some time before 45 ABY, the Templar Orders were partly placed under the Resurgency Military, though they still operated with greater freedom compared to the other branches of the military. This autonomy allowed the Templars greater freedom on the battlefield, making them more flexible, yet their independence from conventional command could also be a great liability for Resurgency officers.

The standard Templar was equipped with a light and flexible set of powered armor specifically designed to enhance a Force-sensitive's movements and abilities. The armor was vacuum-sealed, and the helmet was styled after the traditional Mandalorian helmet still found throughout the modern Galaxy to this day. Customization of the armor was encouraged to a sudden degree among the Templars to better amplify the armor to their personal needs.

During the Mandalore Resurgency's invasion into the northern and northeastern Galaxy, The Templars were usually tasked with locating and combating the Jedi participating in the war. Some Templars, called Templar Visioners, were assigned to commanders as military advisers to help predict the flow of the battle and where the enemy would strike or falter.
