The Malevolence III was a third rebuild of the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence. It was commissioned by General Grievous in 19 BBY, who intended to use it after the Battle of Utapau. He had it moved from its construction site, the docks at Pammant, to the remote Dominus system. However, he was killed at Utapau and the Confederacy of Independent Systems was defeated, ending the Clone Wars. The Malevolence III lay abandoned in its dock in the Dominus system for several years until 2 BBY, when the Alliance to Restore the Republic learned of it and wanted to recover it. The Galactic Empire learned of the Rebels' intentions and sent a group of four Inquisitors to stop them, and they succeeded in doing so. The vessel entered service in the Imperial Navy afterwards.

Characteristics[]

Like the first and second vessels, it was armed with two large ion cannons on the right and left sides. They were very powerful, emitting a magnetic pulse that was able to render an entire Star Destroyer without power. It also was of the same design, having the same interior layout and systems.
