The Malachor family was one of the leading families during the histories of the Order of the Jedi Bendu of the Ophuchi and the Bendu Order. Descended from Matthew of Skywalker, the family participated in the First Ashlan Civil War and had advisers during the Unification War. There was frequently a Malachor serving as a Jedi Bendu Master, and many times as a member of the Council of Masters. Zios Malachor was a leading member of the coalition to save the Order of the Jedi Bendu of the Ophuchi during the Third Jedi Bendu Schism, and after that failed he became the first High Priest of the Bendu Order.
Becoming a prominent family within the Bendu Order, Malachors frequently spoke out against corruption and extremism that formed in the Order during the thousands of years that the Bendu operated off of Kal'Shabbol. Despite this, they were shunned for it, but because of the influence the family held on the planet the members of it were still given power within the Bendu Order. Shamus Malachor was said to have been one of the stronger critics of the extremism in the Bendu Order, and he was killed by High Priestess Andromeda Dulerium during the Second Ashlan Civil War because of it.
