Mace Windu was a Jedi Master who served during the Clone Wars and survived Order 66.
Background[]
Windu was a Jedi Master who has served during the Clone Wars. The conflict lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY. Master Windu had served under the republic, ensuring to end conflict in the galaxy. The Seperatist Alliance threatened the peace of the galaxy, with the Jedi battling to end the conflict.
The Clone Wars eventually did end, but with a great cost. The end of the Clone Wars gave rise to the Galactic Empire which was ruled by Darth Sidious. Sometime during the conflict, Windu had attempted to arrest the Sith master with a team of Jedi. The attempt had failed.
The team of Jedi had attempted to arrest Sidious in his office. The battle cost the lives of three Jedi. This left Windu dueling the Sith Lord. Eventually, Windu had supposedly defeated Sidious. Sidious was left with Windu's purple blade at his face.

Unfortunately for Windu, Sidious had persuaded Jedi Anakin Skywalker to join the dark side of The Force. At this point, Skywalker was not sure what path to take. With Windu about to execute Sidious, it appeared that the Jedi were the real enemy. Just as Sidious was about to face his demise, Skywalker dismembered Windu's right hand. His hand and lightsaber plummeted down into the abyss of Coruscant.
Screaming, Windu was blasted outside. Scarred and half blinded, the Jedi Master began to fall to the cityscape of Coruscant. Fortunately for him this would not be the end.

Meeting Gatel Wardley[]

While falling to the abyss of Coruscant, Windu landed on an airspeeder. While in the speeder, a Sullustan had approached him. Windu was injured, so he could not quite make out the Sullustan. The Sullustan introduced himself as Gatel Wardley, who worked for a durasteel company.
Windu had introduced himself. Gatel had heard of the Jedi Master, but had never seen him in person. Gatel examined his new friend, and concluded that Windu was in need of immediate medical attention. To Windu's surprise, Wardley handed Windu a lightsaber and asked him if it was his. Windu responded with a yes.
Wardley explained that he was going to import more durasteel when the lightsaber had dropped into the speeder. Curious, he stopped to examine what was going on. He could make out flashing, but then Windu had dropped in.
Wardley had changed route and began to go to a durasteel facility. He explained that the facility had an emergency medical room which Windu would benefit. On route, Wardley had asked what happened. Windu responded by simply saying, "The fate of the galaxy is in danger."
