Luke Skywalker was a legendary war hero and Jedi who helped defeat the Galactic Empire in the Galactic Civil War and fought against the Protectorate during the Vidious Campaign, in addition to his deeds on the battlefield, he helped found the New Republic, as well as the New Jedi Order.

Biography[]

Illness[]

Fifty years after the Battle of Yavin Luke Skywalker's body began to physically deteriorate as did his access to the Force, Luke and the Jedi had only just begun to try and determine a cause when the Protectorate emerged and challenged the Jedi and Galactic Alliance. Due to the outbreak of war, Luke put all investigations on hold and dispatched the Jedi to protect the Galactic Alliance and its citizenry. Unknown to all, the true cause of Luke's illness was that he had become so powerful in the Force that his body simply could not continue to contain it without ill effect.

Duel aboard the Antaeus[]

Luke and Ben Skywalker eventually tailed Darth Vidious back to the Protectorate's command ship, the Antaeus. The two boarded with the Jade Shadow and tracked the Dark Lord to the Antaeus's bridge where he held Jaina Solo Fel captive. Although Jaina managed to use the force to free her lightsaber from Darth Vidious's belt, Vidious caught it and impaled her with it, killing her and sparking a duel between the Skywalkers and himself.

The duel took a toll on Luke's body due to the physical activity and active use of the force required to keep up with Ben and Darth Vidious, eventually his body surpassed its limit and his heartbeat slowed down in preparation of stopping. Skywalker raised his blade in the exact same manner that Kenobi had fifty years ago and centered himself, an act which allowed him to vanish to the spiritual plane; his body disappeared just as Darth Vidious's lightsaber passed through his empty robe. Massive explosions of Force Energy materialized from where Luke had passed on and shredded Darth Vidious's armor while also causing him injury.

Legacy[]

Kyle Katarn would succeed Luke Skywalker as Grand Master of the New Jedi Order. Luke would continue to watch over and guide his son throughout the Vidious Campaign.
