Luhum were a species of sentient creatures that lived in the waters of Luhuma, before they were taken into slavery. Following the exodus, they lived on various planets around the galaxy. Many returned to Luhuma during the Clone Wars. Many scientists believed that they shared ancestry with the Selkath.
