Star Wars Fanon

The Trade Federation is no longer what is used to be. I am sad to say that we - the Neimodians - have turned into an organization that seeks total control of the galaxy's commerce, instead of completing its initial goals to mediate conflicts between fellow companies allied with the Galactic Republic. Ironic, how they used my skills as an attorney to use me to lie on the behalf of extremists like Nute Gunray, Rune Haako and Lott Dod and others of their sort before the Galactic Senate. They "gutted" the Federation to turn it into their monopoly. The corruption that plagues the Republic must end so that this organization can return to its true calling. The Senate must act!
—Extract from the Journal of Lufa Danak

Lufa Danak was a male Neimoidian of the Danak family, a respected but simple family hailing from the purse world of Cato Neimoidia. Taught to live a "good" life approved by "law", he would go on to become one of the galaxy's most well-known attorneys, despite his initial desire to become a judge. The company however would go bankrupt, causing Danak to seek employment in the Trade Federation. His moral beliefs (which were uncommon to his species) persuaded Gran leader Alaric Moe to name him aide to Human senator Hash Valeria (with whom Danak would enter a romantic relationship) in the Galactic Senate. Her demise at the hands of the Nebula Front changed him into a more secluded person. He would remain in this position under newly-named senator Lott Dod, a supporter of the greedy new Viceroy: Nute Gunray. Though he despised them both for their cutthroat and machiavelic nature, Danak kept his post and in time was forced to lie and bring false proof to distract the Senate from the Federation's most illegal affairs. His disgust for Gunray and his supporters, chief among them being Dod, Settlement Officer Rune Haako and Deputy Viceroy Hath Monchar increased when he realized that the summit on Malastare, which resulted in the deaths of the directors, including Alaric Moe, had been orchestrated by their shadowy ally Darth Sidious, who would later order the Invasion of Naboo.

During the Clone Wars, Danak remained an aide to Lott Dod, but was also named Trade Baron. Before the Senate, he would reinforce the politician's claims of there being no association between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Trade Federation, but out of fear for his life only. He knew full well the extent of the agreement between the two factions and held both Gunray and Dod as extremists, who were turning the business conglomerate into a war-profiteering organization. Nonetheless, as Trade Baron he also replaced the Satrap from Akiva, becoming the sole ruler of the planet.

As the war went on, the Confederacy was losing ground, causing Darth Sidious to send Durge to Akiva to protect the hidden laboratory and underground droid foundry. The Trade Baron and the bounty hunter would often clash on their moral beliefs and ill-treatment of the citizens. No longer afraid and feeling he needed to release himself from the Federation's webs, Danak confronted Durge, which resulted in him being killed for it.
