Loms Tarva was a male Muun scientist who was a member of the InterGalactic Banking Clan and later a general in the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He was best known for leading a unit of cybernetically-enhanced Muun warriors known as the Emboldened.

History[]

Early life[]

Loms Tarva was born on Muunilinst. After a youth spent dedicated to his education, he achieved a science degree and focused his career on the study of cybernetic technology. Working in concert with Muunilinst's leading doctors, Loms' came to fame when his discoveries saved the life of the InterGalactic Banking Clan's leader San Hill when he contracted a disease that led to organ failure by developing cybernetic implants that were previously unavailable for the Muuns' unique physiology. For his efforts, his name was paraded across Muunilinst and he was offered a position as the commander of Muunilinst's security fleet, whose previous commander was killed during an engagement with pirates.

Clone Wars[]

When the Clone Wars erupted across the galaxy, Tarva rooted out and destroyed the pirates responsible for his predecessors' demise, and for his tactical cunning in the raid was gifted the rank of admiral in the recently formed Confederate Navy and granted command of five Munificent-class star frigates.

Battle of the Trax Tube[]

His first orders as a Separatist admiral was to prevent a Republic Navy supply fleet from passing through an important hyperlane known as the Trax Tube in 21 BBY. Although successful in forcing the supply ships to take a less reliable route to their destination after a bloodless skirmish, he was caught off guard when the attack caught the attention of a nearby Venator-class Star Destroyer and two Arquitens-class light cruisers, which rushed to engage Tarva's frigates.

Hours of exchanging fire passed before Tarva deployed Hyena droid bombers which were successful in destroying the two light cruisers and critically damaging the Star Destroyer, though in a last ditch effort the Star Destroyer's commander sent out a company of clone troopers in escape pods to board Tarva's flagship. The clones fought their way through battle droids to the ship's bridge, where they swiftly defeated Muun members of the IGBC's Collections and Security Division that were supposed to protect Tarva.

Emboldened[]

Although he escaped to another frigate, leaving his flagship behind as the rest of his fleet jumped into hyperspace, Tarva became irate realizing that his species was not biologically equipped for warfare due to their scrawny stature which no amount of natural training could mend. Dedicated to raising a force of Muuns that were truly suited for battle, he returned to Muunilinst and returned to his post as a cybernetics scientist. After weeks of hard work, he developed cybernetics which would enhance a Muun's agility, focus, stamina and physical strength. Using his reputation he managed to summon a group of Muun prisoners who were involuntarily subjected to the cybernetic implants and offered their freedom if they complied.

Days of testing passed before they were deemed a success, having seen a 100% success rate in their simulations against training droids, and thus the Emboldened were born and he returned to his post in the Clone Wars. Impressed by his own creation, he had doctors also fit him with these implants and underwent brief martial arts training.

Battle of Mygeeto[]

With his new force of warriors, Tarva transferred to the Confederacy's army and gifted command of a battle droid regiment, with which he was deployed to hold the city of Jygat amidst the Battle of Mygeeto. After months, the city was finally taken by the 114th Battalion and Tarva was forced to retreat, though he was ecstatic as he finally had an opportunity to deploy the Emboldened. He sent some of his commandos to sabotage a Republic relay station to lure out the 114th Battalion, who upon arriving to investigate the station was ambushed by over 100 Emboldened.

Initially his warriors fought well, though found themselves outnumbered and outgunned, and routed once their numbers reached half of their original strength. Tarva was injured by a blaster bolt to the chest during the skirmish, with his implanted breathing regulator being the only thing keeping him from suffocating, and he was taken prisoner back to the very city he failed to defend. When Order 66 was initiated days later, his captors decided that they'd have no use for prisoners-of-war and executed him.
