The Lofquarians were an avian race native to the Mid Rim planet of Lofquar.

Biology and appearance[]

The Lofquarians were 2-meter-tall avian humanoids with hawk-like heads, platinum feathers, and amber patches of skin around their four black eyes.

Society and culture[]

Lofquarians could work for any affiliation and occupation, and could speak in a language which consists of hawk-like chirps and screeches. They could speak Basic. They also shared their name with the Lofquarian gooney bird, a type of non-sentient avian from their homeworld. They were one of the 5 million sentient species (alien races) known to the Empire in the galaxy.

History[]

The Lofquarians were the sentient descendants of a non-sentient avian species. They evolved on Lofquar, a subtropical planet located in the Lofquar system within the Chommell sector of the Mid Rim. Their homeworld was first discovered sometime between 8000 BBY and 5500 BBY, during the Subterra Period to founding of Rimma and Corellian Trade Spine.

It fell into the area of space known as the Trailing Sectors. They shared their home sector with the Gungans, the Jafani, the Karlinusians, and the Necr'ygor Omics. It became a part of Republic Space during the Clone Wars. In 25 ABY, their homeworld's population was up to 5 billion. Their homeworld became a part of the Darth Krayt's Sith Empire in 137 ABY.
