Rex Heaven: “An illegal cloning operation. All we were supposed to do was rescue Sharkey.”
―MI5 operatives Shasta Moonreaper and Rex Heaven
Licence To Clone is a role playing game on TheForce.Net Role Playing Forum. It is the sixth in a series of games based on a peace-keeping organization called the Secret Galactic Intelligence Service, also known as MI5.
The Plot[]
A Jedi General involved in the Battle of Nadiem vanished during his search for a suspected Confederacy stronghold on the planet. High Jedi General Saesee Tiin fails to feel his presence through the Force and fears the worst. But the clone troopers are reporting otherwise, saying he is deep undercover in their operation. With conflicting reports, General Tiin feels the situation is very suspicious and wants to investigate. Unable to spare any of his Generals or clone troopers, due to the fight and evacuation in Threadneedle Canyon, Tiin has requested MI5 investigate the situation.
The Story[]
Almost immediately after M gave his mission briefing at MI5 Headquarters, some of the agents started butting heads. They began gathering their supplies and headed for the Docking Bay. M's Chief of Staff Europa Kapanen had asked an elder agent Shasta Moonreaper to accompany the new team. Having seen the arguments that took place, Europa felt it best to have a veteran with them to sort of chaperone them.
Before boarding the MI5 vessel, there were some apologies exchanged. Shasta was pleased to see that. When everyone finally boarded, they left Coruscant and headed out for Nadiem.
The trip took a few days, and when the agents arrived at the Flying Eyeball space station, they were greeted warmly. They were then taken to Q'u Branch, which had a lab aboard the space station, where they received gadgets, disguises and weaponry for use in the coming mission. From the space station, they stopped briefly in the blockade around Nadiem to an assault ship called Warmonger, where Saesee Tiin gave the agents more detailed information regarding the situation on the planet.
When the agents finally arrived on Nadiem's surface, they were dropped off away from the battle at Threadneedle Canyon, in a small town called Windsor. In Windsor, they met up with Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor. Iillor took them to see Sharkey's clone squad in the temporary barracks that was set up. While the disguised agents began questioning the squad regarding Sharkey's behavior, orders, and the location of the suspected Separatist base, Vulture droids were seen heading for the small town. The battle in Windsor had begun.
Opting to complete the mission they were given, some of the agents (Shasta Moonreaper, Rax Chopchura, Mitch Nifesta, and Rex Heaven) escaped the Droid Army attack with half of Sharkey's clone squad, while the rest of the agents stayed behind to help evacuate civilians. Sharkey's clones managed to commandeer a Low Altitude Assault Transport, so they and the four agents could get out of Windsor and head for the suspected location of Sharkey's disappearance.
Upon the arrival of a new agent, Antares Reldin, the agents and clones entered the cave where Sharkey was last seen. While in the cave, the nine members of Sharkey's clone squad unexpectedly turned on the agents, holding them at gunpoint. The clones escorted them down a lift that took them deeper into the planet's core. Upon arriving in a durasteel room underground, they were greeted by Finn Killifer.
Questions were answered while they journeyed through the underground compound. Killifer showed the agents a large cavern filled with circular cloning chambers. He explained that they were producing their own clones and secretly inserting them into the Grand Army of the Republic. He also told them that they brainwashed Sharkey into thinking he was working for them, so that it would be easier to insert the clones into the Army. Venturing deeper into the compound, Killifer brought them to a room full of stasis chambers, where they found Sharkey in suspended animation. Killifer then told them that they, too, were to be put in the chambers.
The agents of course wouldn't agree to that, so a battle began within the close quarters of the stasis chamber room, which resulted in the death of some of the clones in Sharkey's squad. Killifer was injured, so the clone named Wrister came to his aid and fled the scene, escaping to safety.
When the battle ended and the room was secure, Sharkey was freed from the stasis chamber. Agent Reldin then began hacking the computer consoles in search of any information they could find in regards to Killifer and his operation.
As Killifer and Wrister attempted their escape from the facility, they were confronted by Agent Nifesta. In a last ditch attempt, Wrister activated a self-destruct sequence in the facility.
The agents raced against the clock to escape the underground compound. Most of them made it out alive along with Sharkey. Rex Heaven was killed by a group of attacking IG-86 assassin droids and Nifesta's whereabouts was unknown. His fellow agents didn't know if he made it out before the place exploded.
The clone called Wrister was killed during his escape. Killifer's body was never recovered and his death could not be confirmed, which led MI5 to believe that he was still alive and in hiding. The facility and all it's databanks and cloning chambers had all been completely destroyed, not leaving much evidence for MI5 to investigate the operation further.
All in all, MI5's mission had been considered a success. They found and rescued Sharkey, bringing him home safely. Plus, they had stopped the threat of Killifer's clones, preventing them from infiltrating the Grand Army of the Republic.
