Leozav Varino, was a smuggler, thief and founder of the Varino family, from the world of Grizmallt. Some believed his name was originally Lazlos Alz Tulvah though this may have been the name of one of his siblings. He used the name Leozav Varino to enlist with the Republic Army, as a way to get off of Grizmallt after angering a local crime lord, he would eventually desert from the military stealing a Quartermaster-class supply carrier, which he named Zaz. By the time he died, he had become one of the first colonists of Naboo, and from a destitute life, to a prospering crime lord on a burgeoning colony.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Born to the Tulvah family, Leozav Varino lived deep in the industrial slums of Grizmallt, no where near the grace that most saw from Grizmallt. He was believed to have been either, the third son Lazlos Alz Tulvah, or the fourth son, Arshan Tulvah, the pair had large rap sheets and thusly had reason to disappear and obfuscate their records later in life. The two favored theories, both have a common start, both brothers were working for someone, depending on the story it's either a Hutt, a Mandalorian, or a corrupt commisar, the job, most commonly said to have been an assassination ends with failure and one of the brothers died. It was high profile enough that the remaining brother fled the planet under an assumed name by enlisting in the military. The theories differ mainly on which brother and why the name was chosen.
Once off the planet the paper trail begins to flow easily, he enlisted in the Republic Army, where he served a quartermaster attached to a division of Rocket Jumpers, where it is noted equipment began going missing once he was in place. He would serve here until the start of the Jedi Civil War, at which point he would desert at his first opportunity, stealing a ship, weapons, armor and a ROCKET. From here he would flee to the more lawless parts of the galaxy to wait out the war and sell his ill gotten gains to anyone who would buy.
A Smuggler is Born[]
After he sold everything that was within the cargo hold of the Quartermaster-class supply carrier that he himself did not want, he realized that he would need a more consistent source of credits. He chose to invest his credits into modifying the Quartermaster-class, and putting together a crew. This newly modified ship he would dub the Zaz, slapping a pair of laser cannon turrets on it, a pair of proton torpedo launchers, and attaching a pair of engines pods to the rear to increase it's speed. Though this sacrificed nearly a quarter of the cargo capacity, his ship was now somewhat capable for what he intended to do, becoming a smuggler. So as he left he began gathering a eclectic crew from a Gank Killer, to a Pan-preneur.
With his crew in place jobs would not be hard to come by, the ever expanding tyranny of the Sith, Czerka Corporation and it's less than legal ways, and various criminal enterprises and as he was just beginning he would take any job, from smuggling weapons into Sith space to taking people fleeing the Sith to anywhere outside of their reach. Though he would not see many riches from doing this, he would for the majority of the Jedi Civil War.
