Lareina Kalyani was the queen of Naboo many thousands of years before Queen Padme Amidala was ever born. She lived until the age of seventeen, at which she was killed in the Great War of the Schoyens, Schoyens being a type of alien which were wiped out in this war.

Early life[]
Lareina lived with her mother and two brothers as a poor subject of Naboo. Lareina often had many arguments against her mother regarding her future. Lareina's mother wanted her to lead a simple life, while Lareina longed for adventure.
At age fifteen, the Queen of Naboo retired and Lareina's brothers egged her on to run for the new queen. Against her mother's wishes, Lareina did so and ended up winning against the jealous Zonta.
Life as a queen[]
At first, Lareina led an easy life as the Queen of Naboo. But on her seventeenth birthday, the Schoyen aliens took sides against one another. The Schoyens attempted to work their disagreements out, being very peaceable creatures, but Zonta, attempting to get back at Lareina for "stealing" the throne from her, encouraged the Schoyens to attack each other.
In these dangerous and confusing times, Lareina often resumed the role of Kalyani, a serving maid, just as Amidala did. But when a gigantic war was announced between the Schoyens, Lareina Kalyani felt it was her duty to stop it. She went out onto the battlefield, undisguised, and was immediately attacked by Zonta and killed.
