Lagobah was a verdant planet located in the Lagobah system of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. It was notably home to the Lagobah rebel cell.
Description[]
Lagobah was the only habitable planet in the star system of the same name, which was located at L-20 on the Standard Galactic Grid and in the Outer Rim Territories and Western Reaches regions. Lagobah orbited one main-sequence star, while two barren moons orbited the planet. Lagobah was slightly larger than most comparable planets, resulting in gravity 10% higher than that of Coruscant. From space, the planet appeared green and blue.
Lagobah had a breathable Type I atmosphere, a temperate climate, and a slight tilt that resulted in mild seasons on most of the planet. The terrain of Lagobah consisted mainly of green forests and grasslands, though there were also a few mountain ranges on the world. Lagobah had no massive bodies of water, but there were many rivers and lakes that dotted the landscape. Many species of wildlife were native to Lagobah, few of them very dangerous, although no sentient beings ever evolved.
History[]
Lagobah was explored some time before the High Republic Era, but no permanent settlements were established because it was not convenient to access and had no known valuable resources.
In 22 BBY, early in the Clone Wars, the Lagobah base was constructed by Separatist sympathizers as Lagobah was located within CIS space. However, the base was later abandoned. In 19 BBY the Battle of Lagobah occurred, where Separatist general Yosip Zagoonga and his forces were attacked by a Republic fleet led by Jon Ternath and Jedaana Lokka. Order 66 was executed during the battle, although Zagoona and Lokka both worked together to survive and made it to the surface of Lagobah. The two later established the Lagobah rebel cell with others at the former Separatist base on the planet.
