Old Republic era

Kysl Ssron was a male Cha'a Sith Lord who served Halicon Karzded, and through him Vedya Gasald, during the New Sith Wars.

Biography[]

After Gasald conquered Milagro in 1,387 BBY, Karzded became de facto ruler of the planet in her stead. While Deordis Bevrelles served as a collaborationist prime minister, Ssron became chief of an independent secret police agency responsible for "disappearing" a number of critics of the Sith regime, as well as fighting the Milagro Resistance. Ssron himself tortured and read the minds of some of the most hardened captives to root out further enemies of the state.

Jedi Knight Mali Darakhan led a successful Republic capture of Milagro and killed Karzded in a duel. Ssron was the senior surviving Sith Lord and commanded his secret police agents to go to ground, though many were captured or killed by the Republic. Ssron himself was taken alive by three Jedi Knights and indicted by the Milagro War Crimes Tribunal. He was defiant to the judges, warning the onlookers that Gasald would return to punish them.

Under guard by multiple Jedi, Ssron was unable to force a direct escape. Instead, he cautiously began using his Force powers to manipulate guard Daveito Bargun, slowly carving out a piece of Daveito's mind that would be susceptible to his influence and control. He also chipped away at Eldrin dar Grosskis's mental stability, causing the man to sink into ever deeper depression. In court Ssron was quietly defiant, glowering at the judges and various witnesses against him but offering few comments.

On the seventy-first day after the Republic attack, Ssron struck, toppling dar Grosskis off his fragile mental perch and driving the man to commit suicide. While the prison reacted, Jedi Knight Feur-Thran Quayli and Daveito came to check on Ssron; Ssron distracted Quayli by lunging at the door, then mind-tricked Daveito into shooting her in the back. He escaped, taking Quayli's lightsaber, but was intercepted in the prison basement by Aldayr Nikodon. The two dueled inconclusively, but when Mali arrived, Ssron surrendered again.

Coaxed by both Milagro's governing officials and his own fellow Jedi, Mali invoked martial law and condemned Ssron to death. Ssron submitted to his fate, content that he had sown division in Milagro that would persist long after he was gone, but he warned Darakhan that his death was only the beginning. Darakhan executed Ssron by decapitation with a single blow of his lightsaber. The Sith Lord's corpse was cremated and his ashes were disposed of secretly.

Powers and Abilities[]

Kysl Ssron had pronounced talent at mental uses of the Force. As head of Milagro's secret police, he was able to mentally torture suspects and read their thoughts as their minds broke down. Even as a prisoner, he was able to subtly manipulate the minds of Daveito Bargun and Eldrin dar Grosskis under the noses of multiple Jedi Knights.

Ssron was the equal of Aldayr Nikodon with a lightsaber, but was outmatched against Nikodon and Mali Darakhan together. He was also initially captured by three Jedi Knights, though it was unknown whether he was outdueled or merely surrendered to avoid the chance of dying in a duel against such stacked odds.

Appearance and Personality[]

Ssron was a Cha'a, and thus of short stature compared to most Humans and similar species. He had orange scales and eyes which had turned red and yellow from deep commitment to the dark side. Like many Sith (but unlike his master, Halicon Karzded) he preferred to wear all black, even as a prisoner.

Ssron was a master manipulator, adept at turning beings against one another (either through ordinary manipulation or telepathy). He was patient enough to bide his time for a perfect opportunity rather than gambling on a possibility. Unlike many Sith, he was not afraid to die; such was his commitment to the dark side that he accepted death as long as, in the circumstances of his dying, he was able to strengthen the dark side and weaken his enemies.
